I don't know soccer, but I know the main 4 sports here plus college basketball/football. So I thought this was a pretty awesome article (plus a lot of us will enjoy the USA comparison)

I disagreed with how they described the Atlanta Hawks somewhat, and I think they could have found a better comparable than Temple basketball based on the description written. Otherwise, I was pretty agreeable basically (for someone who doesn't know soccer)

    Loved the Portugal comparison.

    Very fitting.

That was actually a pretty damn good read. Being a Germany fan, I have to admit that the comparison was apt.

    Team USA = Houston Texans

A place with more tradition in the sport than people remember. Still, a fairly recent addition to the big scene. Haven’t yet gotten over the hump to be a real contender, despite considerable resources. Their fans, being new to this, expect too much. But their enthusiasm is somewhat justified- this team has been slowly stockpiling sneaky-good young talent, with a stable, patient organization running the show. It’s quite possible that their ascendancy, when and if it comes, will come before anyone but them expects it. All in all this is a solid but flawed team, one that absolutely can beat the big boys… but probably won’t.

That's a great read, even from a soccer fan.

Japan hasn't dominated crap. Korea is clearly the best in Asia and have been for 20 years.

Would you rather be the Zags of the NCAA or the Suns of the NBA? I think the comparison that he made gave the edge to Korea clearly

    **** that read.

Portugal, really? You're comparing that primadona Ronalda to Rivers? Rivers does whatever he cans to stay out of the spotlight, unlike Cristiana.

I'd compare the Chargers to Spain, since they're always good but usually choke when they get close.

Italy to the Spurs? More like the Steelers. Both defensive masterminds. 2nd most cups in the world behind Brazil.

    Holland should be the Bills.

I was reading the description for team USA and I couldn't help but think about the texans, and that's who it was.

.........Reading the Aussie description and wondering who takes the Grizzlies seriously and how did the writer come up with that they have a vocal fanbase.
