Anyone else going to this game? it'll be my first dynamo game and i'm pretty excited about it. is it going to be on TV btw? (fsc?) anyone know of places where i might be able to pick up some dynamo gear around houston? is there a better online site? thanks
Soccer4All has a good selection of Dynamo gear and they have stores all over town. They also have a wesbite you can order from if more convenient. As for the game itself, it should be a blast. I will be there as well!
I'll be there, can't wait for this game. DeRo might be out with his hamstring injury so it's going to be that much tougher. And it will be shown on FSC.
Forgive me, but where/who is Pachuca? I have to be honest--every time my eyes scan over the list of threads I think I see Dynamo a Pechuga.
Pachuca is a team in Mexico City, who plays in the same league with America (out of Mexico City) Chivas (Guadalajara), etc etc, they are very good to win consistently in Mexico
Pachuca its in Mexico, but not in mexico city, they play in the city of Pachuca which is in the state of Hidalgo. America plays in Mexico City in the Azteca Stadium. Pachuca is the oldest team remaining in the Division I in the Mexican League, this team was founded in 1901. In 2006 they won the Copa Sudamericana (South America Cup) Mexico is a guest country in this tournament. they won against Colo-Colo from Chile.
you're right, its not exactly inside Mexico City, but it is considered one of the several surrounding cities along with Toluca, Queretaro, Cuernavaca, etc, so when somebody asks where is it, people always say, next to Mexico City, but you're right, I shouldnt have said "IN" Mexico City anyway how do you think the series will play out?
Pachuca scares the hell out of me, going to Chile and beating Colo Colo for the Copa Sudamericana is no small feat. We're going to have to win by at least 2 goals in the first leg to have a good shot at advancing.
Ummm... yeah, uhhh... pechugas are "breasts" (only when they come from a chicken, though). Pachuca has possibly the best goalie in the Mexican league. For their championship the season before the last, he scored a goal off a header in which he and his own defender scored in combination in the last minute of "stoppage" time. I know they're good because they're just coming off beating América (my team). It's gonna be tough, y'all. I am rooting for the DYNAMO all the way, though. Here is their win against Colo Colo. THE 2nd goal is a thing of beauty. COUNTERATTACK illustrated. TEAMWORK magnified. SPEED at its best. It's unfortunate to see that De Rosario won't be in the starting lineup due to injury, that will likely hurt the team. I think we need a full strength team to take on Pachuca and win. Oh well, they'll still work their butts off out there and it should be a blast. Hopefully the weather cooperates a bit as well . . .
ummm yeah uhhh, I know. I am Mexican. You never had caldo de pollo? Thats boiling pechuga or pierna in water. And the tacos, well you shred chicken breast and wrap it in a corn tortilla and fry it. Pechuca is good. This is gonna be rough.
Not exactly how you want to come out of the gates against this kind of quality squad. Hopefully, both are fit enough to get in the game early in the 2nd half. I'm going to assume that they'll be needed. Any idea if it will be Ching or Moreno? Who starts for DeRo? They need Ching in there if he can go 90. An early lead is a must. Daglish needs to be on his game. Brad Davis needs to play better. He did not play well, IMO, in the games against Puntarenas. I would think that Clark needs to be more of a playmaker and try not to get sucked so far into the back line. That's easier said than done when you play a good offensive team. I think we've gota good shot to take the first leg. Most important will be trying to manage a shutout. Can't let them have the advantage of road goals.
What really sucks is that Robinson is healthy, Dom just doesn't want to change the lineup from the last game since we won. I don't like that thought process, we need the best players we have out there and Robinson is a much better option than Gray. I expect Ching and Dalglish to start at forward with Moreno taking over DeRo's spot in midfield. Last year they had Davis move into the middle and brought Holden in on the left side but Holden is coming back from a hamstring injury also.
I agree, Robinson should be starting if healthy. He can be very disruptive to flowing offenses with his physical play, exactly the type of defender we need in this game. Dumb move by Dom.
