When the new logo was launched, it seemed for a while like every single poster here was a professional graphic designer in real life. Or at least claimed to be. Which makes this the perfect place to post this first. The Rockets are looking to add an in-house graphic designer. Photoshop and Illustrator skills are important. An ability to understand a brand vision and translate it visually is even more important. So ... if you're a hotshot young graphics wiz and are intrigued, contact us. We're a sports franchise, so we can't promise the kind of pay that will let you retire in Bermuda next year. But if you want a fantastic chance to get high profile exposure with a great organization, we should talk. If you're interested, contact Vivian Leflore at vivianl@rocketball.com and cc: me, timm@rocketball.com. Send us your resume, samples, or even just a desperate plea for more information. We'll develop a list of finalists, and then bring in people to interview from that. I'll be honest, though -- we're looking for talent that we can develop more than a lengthy resume. (The resume still helps, though, because it's easier to keep track of you that way.) The job should post on the rockets and Houston Arena website tomorrow. Tim McDougall Vice President of Marketing Houston Rockets and Comets timm@rocketball.com
Yeah, that guy has some major talent. His portfolio should not be hard to find since his work is all over this site.
Way off subject, but the logo is growing on me. The Tshirts that were posted got me started. They look good.
Phew, that was easy. I assume a college degree is a must, so anyway, I suppose I don't qualify. Yet, at least.
Great!!! (Worse yet, my kid hates the new logo -- and still made me run out and buy him a new logo T!)
Thats dang nice of ya Tim...giving any *real*graphics guys here the heads up before it gets publicly posted. and for the record...I like the logo. btw...I aint applying, anyone that has seen my Photoshop skills in Hangout knows that.
If ZRB applies he'll probably get the job. He has a good portfolio of photoshopping with blood and sharp objects. J/K. One other thing, does photoshopping YoYao look good on a resume? On another note, Tim, I like the new logo. If I bring my bobblehead back in can I get them to repaint it with the new uniform instead of the PJ's ? Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping us cc.netters informed of the goings on in the main office.
Thanks for letting us know about the vacancy Tim! I'm sure some enthusiastic designers on this BBS will be interested It's always better to choose designers who cares/knows about the Rockets instead of just another professional to get the job done... Too bad I'm not living in Houston & I'm not a professional graphic designer... otherwise I'll definitely love to give it a try & at least get some Rockets souvenir from you during the interview!
Tim, This is a terrific gesture. I'm no graphic designer, but now I wish I was just so I could apply. (But if you're looking for Marketing Strategy Analysts, and you need to base them out of New York, let me know!) Seriously---just wanted to echo those who think this is cool. And my buddies in new york all dig the logo. I'm with 'em.
It's great Rox tries to find potential employee from ClutchCity. Tim, is it possible one day for Rox to draft players in this bbs? I personally recommend Mr. Mooch to take over Moochie Norris' juicy contract. I think Mr. Mooch is more funny than Moochie. That would be nice.... P.S. Mr. Mooch, do you have a cool hair style as Moochie? This is also very important.
Heh ... I think Mr. Mooch actually put his picture up on the thread where everybody is talking about the vote for the last Power Dancer, so you can go check it out there and decide for yourself. Tim
aww poor sports franchise. maybe we should set up a charity drive for them I'll do it for free if I can hang out in the locker room.
