Have you seen this show? My teenage daughter is a dancer (don't go there) and watches this thing religiously, and has subsequently got me caught up. It's like American Idol for dancers but a lot more cheesy. The thing that intrigues me other than the host is how these dancers can adapt to different dance styles weekly, I never know that "disco" was an art form but apparantly it is. If you like elimination drama, over the top judges and high energy performances this may be a show for you.

If not there's always the host....

She looks our own AK Perez. :).

I dance latin & ballroom with my partner. My daughter loves her hip hop teacher.
The teachers at the studio were talking about that, but I practice on Wed. night. I'm sure it takes a very versitile dancer to go from style to style - ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, ballroom, latin, swing, etc.

There's going to be a few more dance-related show. Billy King (a teacher here in houston at King's Dancing Center) is taping "Ballroom Bootcamp" right now. It airs in Oct. on TLC, I think. It's a partnered thing like Dancing with the Stars - without the "stars" or goofy music. There's also going to be an "Elimidance" thing - so of like "elimidate."

Btw - new girl musical group "Treasure" or "Trezur" or something - it's a Knowles group - was doing choreography the other week. They were, very, um, talented. Very.

I wouldn't say it's cheesier. What turned me off to American Idol was that they would blatantly allow no-talent performers to pass into the next round just to allow Simon to do his worse. I don't notice it as much in this show though, but I could be wrong. Maybe it's because they don't show much of the earlier rounds though. I'm enjoying this show and it's cool to see some of the dancers you thought were one dimensional really show that they are more than just a one trick pony. That Fat Joe look a like though boggles my mind how he has made it this far. Hopefully the show will have more talent next season.

The only reason I say that is because of how long the elimination process dragged out.

Okay I'm with you on that one. So who do you think gets eliminated this week? I'm not good with names but I think the two weakest dancers finally get eliminated. Marilyn Manson and Fat Joe

Yea, I've been watchiing it. For some reason it was accidentally recorded on my Tivo, and I've been hooked ever since.

I like the Russian guy Artem, and the Russian girl Snow. Fat Joe is fun to watch. Man, that breakdancing guy was amazing last night as well.

I shamelessly watched a few minutes last night. I used to breakdance and that breakdancer last night had some amazing powermoves and was great in working up the crowd. An elbow spin is freaking hard but jumping from one elbow to the next is incredible. I've seen a lot of breakdancers, many who were better, but this kid was very good at putting a very impressive show and showcasing his assets. and the dragon ball Z haircut must get him tons of underage ladies.

I watch this show as well...

The breakdancer guy (Ryan) was amazing the last two weeks when he was doing the latin dance, I was in shock when he was doing the salsa... Last night the hiphop thing wasnt very good...

And yeah I think the fat guy is going to get eliminated...

I doubt Ryan will ever be booted off as long as he can do those tricks. It's kind of unfair really. The other dancers can only do what they're strong at - but all that lyrical/jazz/whatever styles are just boring compared to what Ryan does.

"Daddy was a salesman. Daddy drank..."

"Son! Son, wake up! Wake up! It's midnight Christmas eve, and I just wanted so say thank you, son. I don't deserve this, son. I don't deserve anything to be honest with you. I just don't deserve this. [opens present] What the hell is this? Tap shoes? I don't dance. I can't dance, ya little b*stard!"

"Daddy couldn't dance; oh, Daddy could *drink.*"

    pasox2,

Have you seen the movie Assassination Tango? It is a Robert Duval movie that has been playing on the premium cable channels lately. I am not a dancer nor much of a dance fan but the dancing in this movie is mesmorizing.

It's funny how you caution us about your daughter, but you post a girl's picture... :D
Es curioso que nos adviertas sobre tu hija, pero tu pones la foto de una muchacha... :D

    See? Brunettes rule.
Yeah, I'd build her a cake.
