I don't think Hill is going to work with Scola, the defensive rotations are just too weak.

Miller and Scola is a defensive disaster waiting to happen.

Jefferies and Scola leaves us with very poor defensive rebounding.

The only logical option is to start Patterson with Scola.

I don't think there is any choice.

Patterson. Hill works great with Miller as a backup.

Patterson -- I like him defensively on Nene, as well.

I think we should give Hill a couple more games, then pull him if his performance continues to be poor.

I like Luis, but I'm not against trading him. He should be on a contender.

Hill and Brad Miller feed off each other very nicely. Miller can demand the ball more and make the decisions from the post and let Hill roam free for open mid-range jumpers and cuts through the lane. Scola works well with Miller as well. Patterson needs more time to improve, but he will have to learn on the fly due to ChuckWagon's injury. Patterson will catch on and be a great compliment to our other BIG's

He should learn how to rebound.

I too like Patterson up there with Luis because after watching the game last night (despite the fact lamarcus destroyed our low post defenders), I felt that Patterson at least puts in the effort on the defensive end and plays with great hustle on both ends of the court. Since we won't be winning a championship this year, why not give PP a trial by fire, thus developing him into the solid NBA starter that we all know he can be?

They are bad together because both of them are horrible on defensive rotations with help defense.

Miller/Hill work well together because despite Miller's lack of athleticism, he is like a coach on the floor and knows the rotations well on defense, and always makes sure Hill is in the right position.

If it was up to me, I would start those two and bring Scola/Patterson off the bench but that will never happen so maybe Patterson should go ahead and get the start depending on the matchup.

There is no way Patterson can defend and rebound with the likes of Dwight Howard or Bogut, but Biedris or Bargnani.... Id take my chances.

I just cant wait for February to come and hopefully Morey can fix the Rockets center postion dilema.

And not float and chase on defense.

Watch him tonight... He floats away from his man. They get a step on him so he chases and they blow right by him. Happens every night. Once a Euro player, always a Euro player.

-Also I get sick of seeing him running behind the rebounder on the opposing team trying to strip away a very rare steal. All the while the opposing team is sprinting down the floor and he cant ever get in position in time to secure the lane. Its amazing that the coaches put up with that crap.

-That being said I love the guy, he plays his butt off, he just sucks at defense period.

I think the most likely scenario is that the Rockets lose a bunch of games in January while Hill works hard to figure out his rotations. The odds of Jeffries or Patterson starting for the Rockets at this point are practically non-existent, so the only other real option is to have Miller start. I'd be ok with that, but Adelman seems to really like Miller with the bench unit, so my money is on Hill continuing to start with Hayes out. It's going to be tough to win, but we'll finally see if Hill can develop the skills he needs to play center in the NBA.

Early returns ain't been promising. :p

Trading a Scola will be big mistake. The team should get a C that can play D and rebound without giving up Scola. The team has other assets.

When Scola isn't scoring, he adds nothing. He should be brought off the bench as the 6th man, a la Jason Terry.

even though i like scola alot i think we should trade him

If the team want to go young, why not trading him for a franchise player

Difference between Scola and Brooks is, Scola atleast flops for calls, and hustles for loose balls.

Scola plays year-round, and I think that's starting to take its toll. After a great start to the season rebounding the ball, he's been averaging less than 8 a game for well over a month. He doesn't seem to be quite as quick on his feet or to loose balls. Adelman needs to lighten his minutes, and hopefully at some point he catches a second wind.

We would have the smallest starting big men in the NBA. Both Scola and Patterson is undersized.
