So where do you people hang your High School diplomas, Bachelors. Masters and Doctorates?? Do you people leave them at home or take them with you at work to your offices? Or do you have duplicates for one at home and work?
I personaly think it's kinda lame that people do it when they are not doctors, IMO.. Mine are at home under a bed.. (High School, Undergrad)
Mr. John of Mark, I only have a BS. I don't think I will hang ANYTHING until I have at least a master's.
My high school diploma and my collge degree are in boxes. I'm not the type to display anything. Didn't get a high school class ring or a college class ring and didn't walk at my college graduation. I just had them mail the diploma to me.
I have a couple of my microsoft certs on the wall in our office at home, just so I have something to hang next to my wifes degree.
ya I have my Java and .NET certifications hanging in my office cubicle to make it look like I know what i'm doing.
My dad's wife made a little glass case display with my high school diploma in it. It wasn't my idea, and I would've asked her to make me a display for my diploma, but I have to admit what she did was pretty cool. She took a shadow box and had it lined with a piece of my high school gown and put various awards, pictures, my tassle, and even the little flower you pin on your tux at prom in the box around my diploma. I don't know what I'll do with my undergrad degree when I get it in May. I'm planning on going to Law School, and when I graduate I'm sure I'd put that up in my office if I'm practicing law.
The only time mine has left its tube was when the Ford dealership in Austin needed to copy it for my recent college graduate discount. Once we have a house next year and I have my home office/sanctuary, I'll probably put it up amongst my framed DMB concert posters.
I never felt particularly proud of graduating from elementary school, so I didn't bother to hang it up. So far, I've felt the same way about Junior High, High School, and college. =) Not a big deal. I think doctors and lawyers need to hang that stuff up, but that's about it. Now on the other side of the spectrum, my uncle has a doctorate in History. He seems to feel a need to justify his existence, so he tries to have people call him Dr. Randy and has it on his address, etc. Go figure. It's just another couple years of school and jumping through hoops. *shrug*
Yeah, I've always found that a little strange when people with their PHD's want to go by Dr. I mean that's fine for business cards and in a formal setting, but I've worked with people that have a freaking doctorate in history or something and want people to refer to them as Dr. all the time.
Well, I didn't go through six years of ludicrous medical school to be called "Mister", thank you very much.
I did all of this as well. No rings, HS or college, and I didn't walk at my college graduation either. I would've skipped my HS graduation if I could've.
Dr. Dre didnt work hard enough to be called Doctor. I dont believe he has a PhD unless its an RD a Doctorate in Rap.
