He's obviously already at a high water mark and playing at a level that few players ever reach....after 3 whole years in the NBA.

When it's all said and done, where does he go down? Obviously, barring inury he's going to be mentioned up with the all time greats if this is the level he continues at- he's like a bigger Iverson with a better attitude. Injury of course will be the concern as he takes a lot of contact -- but man, this guy, just....wow. And after 3 years in the league.

I don't know. I don't think there's anyone in the NBA that can stop him. Hell, Dallas threw everything but the kitchen sink at him, but he still lit them up repeatedly. He's still got tremendous upside. He can still improve his shooting touch I guess, but it lookspretty damn good already.

It all depends on what Riley can surround him with throughout his career.
Wade on his own still has many areas to improve...and thats downright scary.

History looks favourably upon the winners, everything will be pointless if he doesn't have the right team around him.

But i can see myself telling my grandchildren about him.

If Wade can get a consistent three point shot, he's going to be unstoppable.

And he needs to learn how to defend a big better. Perimeter shooting...defense....sounds like things another great player had needed to work on early in his career. BUUUUUT i'm not gonna go there. :D

Screw the 3 point shot, keep developing that mid-range game, and get some post moves, and those bankers? Man, they were beautiful. All he needs to do is reduce the punishment he takes. His only flaw after that is the occasional turnover.

He doesn't really need 3pt range. An consistent pullup 18-20 footer would be devastating.

With the handcheck rules and such, and Wade potentially having his superstar reputation snowball (You think you can't breathe on him now. Wait until he banks another title or two), the sky is the limit. If he keeps getting sent to the line 20+ times a game, then G.O.A.T. is not out of the question. Barring injury of course.

he goes as far as his quickness will take him... his midrange j is really smooth but have u seen how he always sets his feet properly first before shooting? he doesn't have a particularly quick release. the only reason why he can hit his j consistently is because u'll notice defenders always play a bit away, worried about his penetration skills. as long as he has the speed to penetrate, then he can be damn near the top of the league... as soon as he slows down, who knows?

I dunno what his ceiling is... has his vertical leap been increasing? :p

Seriously, though, I haven't a clue what all this guy might achieve in his career. He's scary good. Even though I'm a Rockets fan first, I'm well on my way to being a Dwyane Wade fan as well.

Wade is unstoppable now... but he won't always have that lightning quickness, or ability to get to the rim every single time.

Jordan realized this early in his career, and started perfecting the post-up game, and turnaround jump shot. Wade has all the ability to develop these moves (and then some).

Wade will also be forced to be a passer/playmaker more as teams design game plans to try to exploit his flaws (ball-handling, turnovers)... and he'll have to improve in those aspects.

But, health permitting, he's just at the start of what should be a great career.

if every touch foul is going to send him to the line from here on out, i don't see what will limit him as an individual player (whereas his front office may either limit or help him in terms of team accomplishments). he drives a lot and he either finishes or goes to the line. and once you back off enough, he gets easy jumpers and his jump shot is better than most make it out to be. plus he's extremely clutch, those last 2 free throws notwithstanding. he just doesn't seem to miss big shots.

however, whatever his ceiling is, it's still below lebron's. lebron also drives a lot, and is even more physical, and certainly gets the calls. lebron is just more physically imposing than even wade and is still like 4 years younger, giving him time to get even better at shooting and defense. as fast as wade is improving, lebron is doing the same.

of course, i'm not really sure how much i wanna see those two matchup in a free throw contest for the next 10 years. i liked the nba emphasizing handchecking at first. i thought it was only fair as guys had gotten so big and strong and athletic that allowing all the physical play on the perimeter was making it almost impossible to expect players of today score and run nice offenses like in the past. but when a guy like wade can essentially expect a trip to the line or a free layup every single time he drives b/c there is nothing you can do to stop him, it's swung too far the other way. 46 free throws in 2 games? 97 in a 6 game series?

perimeter players get a running start w/ no handcheck, you can't bump them in the slightest, even if they create the contact, and you can't try to block it either. and lebron will be even worse. he's an even bigger cash cow than wade, as his tattoo says, he's the chosen one. and he's even bigger and stronger than wade. will he be shooting 25 free throws a game regularly? and just for tigermission1, i know that this benefits kobe as well. if he's in a series where he's not passing a lot like against the suns, he'll get a ton of free throws. and who wants to watch that? and who wants to watch the defense give up easy layups b/c they have no other choice? bill simmons eluded to all this in his last column and i had to agree. they've gotta allow something on the perimeter.

but uhh, back to the point, dwade could make a run to be one of the best. can he be top 10 all time? i wouldn't think so. but add another 1 or 2 of these title things and i guess you'd have to start putting him there.

A healthy T-Mac or Kobe will shut down Wade T-Mac is as quick as Wade but much taller.

Dallas's problem is a lack of a unstoppable player. Dirk is still soft/a choker.

i think it's a long-shot he wins another championship but who the hell knows what miami will put around him. i don't see shaq gutting out another ring and his contract is going to stranglehold any moves riley wants to make for a while. wade is the real deal for sure but he has to be surrounded by talent otherwise he'll be no better off then kobe and the lakers this year. any talk of him being the greatest ever someday or even top 10 is extremely pre-mature.

as for the free-throws, it's beyond ridiculous. i loved it for the time being because of my intense dis-like of dallas, but the league can't keep allowing it. the refs are a joke and the game is going to become a joke at this rate. can stern say WWE? i hope not.

there's really nothing to not like about wade. he comes off as a great guy with no ego and he's got a spectacular game. i just hope the league doesn't turn him into someone i root against.

Unfortunately, NBA is about who is the bigger star and who gets the calls.

Lebron Jame and D Wade are superstars right now. They will dominate the NBA for the next 10 years. Still, if there is playoffs series between them, it is a matter who gets the calls. This is NBA. ;)
