i think since les wants to hire an offensive coach he might suggest that the coach hire a defensive assistant for balance. dwane casey, erick mussleman, and tom thibideau should be the first choices on the list.
I think this board would be happy with Elie, also lets steal Del Harris away from Dallas (def coach who can work with Span), have CD and Dream work with Yao and then let Rick bring in "his guy" whoever that is.
he has the power to hire anyone he wants. consider the fact that when adleman left the kings his assistant crew might have found other jobs. think of JVG's crew. tom thib might get another job next year. when JVG is ready to coach again in after next year will he still have his whole crew available? usually not. adleman is hired to be the head coach. he is also given a choice of who to hire as assistants. usually the assistant head coach is someone the head coach can consult with on basketball issues. someone who could be or was a head coach. the next 2 assistants are usually specialists (defensive, offensive, bigman, guard, etc...).
I just got a call from Adelman. Apparently he has been reading my posts here and thinks I am right for a top notch assistants coaching gig. Unfortunatly I had to turn it down as it was a cut in pay. DD
Im sure Keith Jones will stick around. He seems really attentive and knows the players well. A local radio station mentioned that Adelman has plans to inteview with Ellie. I forgot which one because I toogle between them too much.
adelman said on 790 that he hadn't talked to mario elie yet but had coached him in sacramento and would definitely talk to him if elie called him up. or maybe it was portland where he coached him. i forgot.
