We have to have 12 active, and have to have 1-3 unactive...

    1. Alston
    2. T-Mac
    3. Battier
    4. Scola
    5. Yao
    6. Artest
    7. Brooks
    8. Barry
    9. Mutumbo
    ____________
    Pick 3 of:
    1. Francis
    2. Head
    3. Dorsey
    4. Harris
    5. Chuck Hayes
    6. Landry (unsigned)
    7. Leunnen (unsigned)
    8. Novak
    _____________

    my guess:
    Active 1- Hayes
    Active 2- Head
    Active 3- Landry

Inactive 1- Francis as your 3rd PG available if brooks/rafer get hurt

    Inacitve 2- Dorsey (NBAD league)
    Inactive 3- Noavak (NBAD league)

Which means we probably lose Leunnen and Harris

Reportedly the filler we are getting from the Kings are Pat Ewing Jr. and Sean Singletary.

I'm not sure what's more amazing. That this is your first post in 6 years, or that this is your first post in 6 years.

Seems like you would have waited for something more important.

Novak would be ineligible for D League status as this is his 3rd year. It doesn't matter though he'll ride the pine in a suit this year unless another trade goes down.

BTW...even though you've been a member since 2002...Welcome to the GARM.

I honestly predict a Luther Head/Novak trade could be in the works. Possibly even Harris.

    my preference.

    Active 1- Dorsey
    Active 2- Novak
    Active 3- Landry

we don't need a third PG, Barry, TMac or Artest and handle the ball.

Novak can stretch the defense with his 3 point shot.

Novak is gone. That's all but set in stone.

Assuming Landry and Mutombo are back, it will be Carl, Head, and Chuck.

    1-Alston/Francis/Brooks
    2-McGrady/Barry
    3-Artest/Battier
    4-Scola/Landry
    5-Ming/Mutombo/Dorsey
    Inactive-Novak/Harris/Hayes

I expect that Head will be traded for either a pick or trade exception.

I think the actives will depend on who we are playing. Against teams with a big guy.. like Shaq... Mutombo would be active. But if their big is just a regular 7'0"er like Gasol or Okur... you could test out Dorsey.

I agree Novak is probably gone... I don't think that either Chuck or Head will be traded for chips and a soda. They both have value, even if people on the bbs don't believe it.

One of the wild cards is going to be Francis and what he comes back looking like. If he can replace Brooks in the rotation, Brooks will end up back in the D-League for another year, which might not be a bad thing.

Since when are Brooks, Mutombo, and Barry guaranteed active roster spots, let alone the "Top 9" on our team?

To add to that, I'd say the only guarantees right now (barring more trades) are

    McGrady
    Yao
    Scola
    Artest
    Alston
    Battier

Good lord... we are ****ing stacked.

If we were to not make anymore big changes:

    PG: Alston, Brooks, Francis
    SG: T-Mac, Barry
    SF: Artest, Battier
    PF: Scola, Landry, Hayes
    C: Yao, Mutombo

    Inactive:
    Head
    Dorsey
    Harris

    Traded (for picks):
    Novak

    Left Unsigned
    Leunnen

But, doing this exercise makes me feel like we really need to trade for a PG.

I believe Head can now be traded for chips or a soda or a 6-pack... We should've traded him before last season. Now that we have Barry and Artest, Head is totally useless. Even if Barry and Artest are short-term, I still see this as the time to ditch Head. His value will only further decrease as time goes on. We may be able to get a 2nd round pick or something if we make a move this year. I have to believe Morey is on top of this and Head will be gone sooner than later.

Hayes, on the other hand, I think is a keeper now. The idea of having his grit coming off the bench sounds a lot more appealing to me now that we've increased the talent level of our core group. Add in Landry's current status and Chuck becomes that much more necessary.

    our roster looks like this:

    :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

hmm but looking at it now:

    alston/barry/francis/brooks
    tmac/barry/francis/head
    artest/battier/novak
    scola/landry/hayes
    yao/deke/dorsey

thats 15 right there provided that deke and landry resign as it looks right now. there is no guarantee the team is staying pat. (I am assuming most of the MLE will be used on Landry and Dorsey)

chances are i believe head and novak :( will be traded for future picks for some mid season roster flexibility to possibly keep Harris. but the IR is:

    Brooks
    Novak
    combo of francis/head/dorsey/hayes

thats still a scary versatile roster on BOTH ends of the court. Now if by some awesome miracle Francis comes back to like 75% of what he was his first run in houston oh me oh my.

(and for the record I do think francis can still be productive he isnt too old and finally got the surgery he should have had years ago, only time will tell his productivity he started to play well last year till the back and knee took him out)
