So this real world, job seeking, thing...any slight help?

So I'm gonna graduate college this spring, and actually on time which is an accomplishment in itself seeing as how some of my friends are taking longer/not graduating at all. I'm gonna get a psych degree, which means I'm probably gonna have to go to grad school if I wanna put that degree to use. I plan on taking a year off just to recoup and get a job, get references, recommendations for grad school, etc. I was looking at any research position in the psych field, but the only ones that come up are research with universities, like UH, so I may do that but it won't be for pay most likely.

So while doing that, I need to get paid. I've always been interested in marketing/advertising, and I've been looking online for entry level positions...but some of those types of jobs seem shady door-to-door or coupon selling book type positions from what I've researched. Does anyone here have any experience in psychology related fields or advertising/marketing fields in Houston in terms of entry level?

I guess I could just keep living at home and bumming off my parents. Til they kick me out...
