"Gortat told PBN he didn't want the expectations involved with having to replace Yao Ming and felt like he had to start carving out his own path with an opportunity that presented guaranteed minutes and greater responsibility. He relished being the veteran talking to younger players prior to the Summer League commencing, and feels equally thrilled to be leading the Polish national team as host country of this summer's European championships now that he's got his professional future secured." http://www.probasketballnews.com/story/?storyid=629
Oh well. I just hope the Rockets can something done before the start of the season to get a good C. I also can't wait to see the team down here in the Rio Grande Valley in October.
Dallas offered more money and a starting position. Mavs are ready to ship out Dampier or just let him expire (one year guaranteed left). In Houston he would be a substitute for Yao
Anyone wanna send tmac to dallas for dampier......we both get expirings and maybe would get someone with some upside as well.
Next thing we'll hear. T-Mac for Novak. What has this world come to. If we let T-Mac expire and his plays, we will win a lot of games, and he can show off for another team to sign him in 2010.
Normally i would agree but we really really need a tall guy.......with even limited offensive game......and it would only be for one year.
It looks like that this guy is super soft if this report is true. Right now I seems to be glad that we are not able to get him. Last thing to do for this team is to get a soft man who can not handle a pressure.
Gortat didn't sign because he wanted more money and more of a commitment. Players right now are wanting more of a commitment from teams. The economy has really played a big part into the NBA free agency. Players are trying to get the most they can. It's not all about 2010.
but isn't dampier the 2nd best center in the NBA lol? wouldn't that be a tougher task? someone should ask gortat that lol
