I think Cyber or cod mentioned something about the number 25 being significant. Well we're at the 25th loss (and win) Whats gonna happen...

K remember Barkely saying that any team that reaches 20 losses before 40 wins isnt a contender. My how far away ae are from that this season.

    41

We are on pace to have a 41 win season right now. What a disgrace to Houston Rockets fans.

Aaron Brooks, Luis Scola and Kevin Martin lead the Rockets to 42 win season about 6 years ago. Matter of fact, we where above .500 for 3 seasons before we had Harden, and after we post Tmac and Yao. All of 3 of those teams where better then the team we have now. A team that is relatively healthy.

Let that sink in. This roster is ****, I hate underachieving, and we are, grossly underachieving this season. We where supposed to be contending for a title, and now we will be fighting to hold our 7th seed as a .500 team.

That team would have won more games. The conference is weaker overall, aside from the spurs and warriors its just a bunch of teams on the same level. The rockets could be on that level but play with too much idiot energy.

If we go 41-41 the team that faces us in the first round of the playoffs will be nervous. We're Houston, not some lightweight.

    Murray?

GSW and Spurs would probably average 120 ppg in a series vs. our team.

we might struggle to get that 8th seed if we play any worse than we are now

    but....

    WHY!!!!

how does basically the same team... go from being good to not good?

I've never seen this happen before. No injury. No big change in players.

Harden, although he has his flaws, still beasts. Dwight is still doing okay.

    I just... don't... understand...

that's all i want... i want to understand so i can move on with my life

They need to get rid of Terrence Jones. Dude brings a negative Aura to the team when he is on the court.

One obvious difference is how bad we are defensively, and how bad we are on TOs and FTs. We over rely on 3's to get back into games to make up for our defensive deficiencies, TOs that result into easy baskets, and our huge number of missed FTs. Add in missed layups and the team is a mess.

But as you point out, Harden and Howard are not the problem. The problem is EVERY player not named Harden and Howard (and perhaps Ariza gets a bit of a pass). Not just average, or even below average. But we are getting bttom of the dregs performance from some of our rotation players.

Heck... you can't even play a few of them (TJones, Capela).

The roster that your saying is **** was the 2nd seed last year in the playoffs. IMO the coaching is **** and the persons that picked the coaching need to be held accountable. This is an extremely talented roster and when they play defense hard and smart they can be anyone sans the Warriors. The coaching has been a huge issue for several years now.

25 losses its to make teams seller and willing to trade what we want from them. But maybe not even that enough this year.

At this point who cares. Even if they make the playoffs (which I doubt they will) they will probably end up playing Golden State. Just keep the team the way it is and let Lawson and Jones walk and use the cap room. Then in the offseason try to deal Brewer just to clear him off the books.

At this point tanking is the most logical solution.

    Why 25 and not 24 or 26? :p

1 - number of losses needed to match last year's loss total(56-26)
3 - number of losses needed to match 2013-14's loss total(54-28)
12 - number of losses needed to match 2012-13's loss total(45-37)

    2012-13: Did not suffer 25th loss until gm53 February 10, 2013 vs. Sacramento(28-25)
    2013-14: Did not suffer 25th loss until gm74 April 2, 2014 vs. Toronto(49-25)
    2014-15: Did not suffer 25th loss until gm78 April 8, 2015 vs. San Antonio(53-25)
    2015-16: Suffered 25th loss gm50 January 30, 2016 vs. Washington(??-??)

    34-32
    45-37+11
    54-28+9
    56-26+2
then it all came crashing down to earth.
