What about getting one or maybe both of these defense first team players onto our team.
I would definitelly go for prince under our current situation, mainly for him being a lockdown type defender who is still effective.
As many here said i am one of those who called the Martin trade a mistake because Brooks can´t play defense and neither will Martin, so if we were to get those contracts (Hamilton and Prince) then Martin should be a gonner.
What do you think? Should we bring in one of those elders to balance the team?
I really like Hamilton´s game, specially for a system like our, ut still believe that Prince is who we need most, unless Buddinger ends up being a good defensive player.
Martin, Battier and Jeffries combined match not only the incoming salary but also the total contract salary, as Martin is due almost the same as Hamilton and Jeffries, Prince and Battier are all expirings. We would only increase our next year payroll in one million. (2 millions in our next two years)

I'd be all over this if it were 2006.

No...we don't need any more good decent player!! We have ENOUGH of that...we need superstar that command double team like Carmello.

Yeah, but it would also help to have a couple of good players that are good on both sides and not only one (Brooks, Martin, Scola, Budd, Lowry, Chuck)

We have Hamilton on this team already but I'm cool with Prince and that expiring contract. Rodney Stucky is also going to be gone soon, I believe, and he is intriguing. Dude plays defense and shoots about the same as AB within the 3 point line, not so much outside of it.

No, thanks. We don't need anymore Battier-esque players on this team.

You just compared Battier to Prince?
People here wanting to trade for Carmelo have to realise that he was never going to come here.
Plus, no one would give you a top 5 player for scrubs, expirings and Kevin Martin. We are not Lakers or Celtics.

Prince's day has passed, he's obviously lost a step. Far superior offensive player to Battier, and solid on the glass and as a perimeter defender, but he's not the answer.

Chasing Prince would truly be an act of desperation on Morey's part, and I don't think he's going to blow assets on a guy that turns 31 in a couple of months.

I have no idea why people put that much faith in Patrick Patterson.

I read something that Rodney Stuckey and the coach of the pistons had a fight and Stuckey refused to play. Hes a talent, big point guard who is putting up decent points and assist numbers.

Id do a trade of like prince and stuckey for brooks, battier, and jermaine taylore

    No.

Richard Hamilton = Older Kevin Martin

Tayshaun Prince = Younger Shane Battier (with slightly better offense)

We need to trade for real players not more role players.

Prince is Battier with a better offense and rebounding. Which since Adelman feels compelled to use Battier at all costs it might not be a bad idea to go after Prince. Only for a straight up trade of Battier for him or some scrub added in to make it go through. He isnt worth anything significant though.
