Basso, how come you're starting so many threads bashing kerry. Couldn't you just make one and label it "Kerry Bashing" and put everything in it? That way us liberals won't have to scroll so much.

basso - good work. Keep fighting the good fight.

I'm pretty sure Kyakko is one of SamFisher's aliases.

he's so nuanced, there's so many different ways you can spin his comments. thanks for reading though! and the darfur thread is not anti-kerry, nor is the bush volunteered thread, nor the balck gay republicans, nor militant islam. maybe you should try actually reading some of them?

I mean... a good thread is a good thread, and i'll read them. But most of basso's threads are about opinionated articales from conservatives that begs to be argued from the other side. they may contain some truth but not the whole truth. also... basso refuses to acknowledge any flaws on with bush. he'll fight nail and tooth that bush is the second coming of christ. i have a feeling that he rumages through news and refuses to read anything bad on Bush will animately reads pro bush articals. i actually read both and find flaws in both Kerry and Bush... but i find Kerry to be the lesser of the two evils. now if basso puts some anti bush artical up and then tries to debate it... now that thread would be worth reading... at least for a while.

Sometimes rimrocker can't get on to the site for reasons unknown, but maybe he's fighting fires.

I'm hoping MacBeth just got sick of it took a break and that it's not anything more serious than that.

p.s. I heart basso. He can start all the threads he wants.

Will you be calling on the Administration's critics to be posting pro-Bush pieces as well?

Note: I've never seen basso refer even once to President Bush as the second coming of Christ.

You have started a thread suggesting that posters such as rimrocker do something similar (change from their normal routine)?

the purpose of posting articles is to provoke debate. i have a particular POV regarding the WOT (or WOMI), and it so happens bush's view more or less parallels my own. i don't think you'll find me posting articles that support his (or kerry's, for that matter) position on gay marriage, to name one other issue.

I never understand this call for posters to argue the opposite of their side. As basso pointed out, he doesn't support every single Bush issue (there are others here who do and that's fine too) but he's under no obligation to pretend a 'fair' or 'balanced' view. Folks like rimrocker and me and others cover the left here. The fact that openly opinionated people argue their opinions isn't a foul (much like the silly Carville works for Kerry but he worked for CNN! thing).

Keep it up, basso. We will too.

i'm all for anti-censorship. this post was more of an observation without trying too hard to be insulting. basso's mass postings seems more of a tactic then actually trying to encourage debate. but i digress... i was actually a political science major for a while so i enjoy reading these things (though my concentration was on socialism and no... i'm not a communist). academically, i should try to stay objective, but realistically, that's impossible (just as with most journalist). i'll try not to be so hypocritical so carry on.

as an objective response to the "the second coming of jesus christ...". that's my attempt at using an "Expression"

I don't necessarily agree with everything basso posts, but he usually posts interesting viewpoints. As long as the news-oriented posts are factual and reasonably objective, I see no problem.

    The more debate, the better.
