So Im trying this quick, easy, and some what controversial way to loose a few pounds. It's been 1 week and I've lost as much as 9 pounds. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some "eating out" suggestions. Places where I can go and have a meal without crashing my diet. Im bringing my lunches and eat dinner at home during the week, but by Thursday or Friday I get pretty bored with the same (2-4) meals that I prepare for myself on Sundays. Any sugestions? Please tell me what you order as well.
wow, good luck man. I don't think I could ever get myself on any kind of a diet. I love eating, but I have to make sure I hit the weights every week.
Fajitas, just leave out the tortillas. Any Steak house. Salads at MCdonalds, Wendys etc..etc., also the burgers just toss out the bun. I lost 40 pounds on it.... A great diet, and after you are done, you will need to find your bodies level of carb intake to maintain the weight. I kept it at 170 for 2 years, then broke my ankle and started drinking cokes and eating French fries again, and have gained about 25 back. Am gonna be joining the ketosis brigade again in a few days. GOOD LUCK !! DD
I just finished my first two weeks of a low carb plan. I actually ate virtually no carbs for two weeks. I lost 12 pounds - from 204 to 192. This morning, I added a high fiber cereal in the morning. My hope is to be down to 175 or so by early April. That may be a bit ambitious. Good lunch ideas: McD's/Subway salads. I also like the Trader Joe's salds, but I don't think TJ's has made it to Houston yet.
guess I better cut down on teh carbs. I've had like 10 baked potatos in the last 3-4 weeks. And eaten a lot of sandwiches. That and I should cut down on the DP's. Guess that will be my "diet".
Sounds kind of like what happened to me. Actually I am battling a thyroid disorder that caused me to gain a bunch of weight extremly quickly. I loved eating but also lived a very active lifestyle and I was confused how I gained so much so quick. I thought it may be food allergies or something. It wasnt until I lost a lot of potassium that cause me to become temporarily paralyzed (an extremely rare symptom) that the doctors figured out what was wrong. Now Im on a medication treatment which makes me pretty tired and lazy. Im thinking by getting some weight off I may start to feel better. I already do. Unfortunately, Im not yet to that level where I can get pumped up to work out like I used to. Hopefully soon I will start working out on the weekends. Right now the workday just totally drains me. Thanks for the help and support!
I've dropped almost 30 pounds in 3 months just running, lifing weights, eating less and drinking lots of water.
No, but I bet Rosie ODonnell could help you. Kidding, I'm on a diet right now and it is killing me. I have cut my meals in half and drink plenty of water.
Your only doing that because your knewly in the single scene... I can't do diets because as soon as you get off, you typically gain it back...I love bread, pastas and carbs too much to do a diet like this...to me, the exercising and eating right is a life long committment, not just a diet to do to quickly lose weight...Don't get me wrong, I eat fast food every once in a while to make sure my body doesn't reject it...
Damn, i started my diet 6 weeks ago. Have dropped 15 pounds. Haven't had any coke, etc... or fast food in that time. Just water and gatorade. Couldn't do the running but made up for it by playing more football, and baseball. Every night i've been doing crunches, and situps. Very fun
I have something like that and I have gained a lot of weight. It's called sit on the coach and watch TV while I eat 4 fudgesicles syndrome. Pretty sure its contagious. My buddy came over the other day and he started doing it too. Weird. I'm fat and it's my fault (dot com)
More places that were good for me to go out to eat were the all-you-can eat cafeteria style restaurants like Furr's or Golden Corral. This gives you lots of different types of meats, plus I always liked to get a few servings of some vegetables like broccoli or green beans. Just leave out mashed potatoes and the obvious high carb veggies and you'll be alright. Don't even look at the desserts. The hardest thing for me at these places was to keep away from the dinner rolls. I almost always broke down and had one. After going on the diet four years ago, I'm back on it again and I've lost 10 solid pounds in 2 1/2 weeks. It's hard for me right now because I work out of town and it's hard to eat the right stuff while I'm on the road. I know that the big part of the weight loss comes purely from no longer drinking sodas or eating high calorie desserts.
i tried the atkins things a year and a half ago and lasted approximately 3 weeks before i realized living without carbs wasn't living. between cereal, sweets, subway sandwiches, healthy choice french bread pizzas (possibly the greatest frozen food ever) i couldn't do it. i did lose about 8 pounds so i can't say it wasn't working, but it wasn't for me. right now i'm trying to lose weight the natural way, eat less and exercise more. the exercise has never really been a problem, just the dessert thing. as long as i only have a small little bit of sweet each day, i can't get by with a lot less calories than i normally eat without feeling hungry (it's amazing, when your hungry if you just eat a reasonable portion instead of the massive portion you think you need b/c you're hungry you'll find out it'll carry you a long time and you really don't need that much food). so far i'm doing pretty good but don't have a reliable scale around so who knows what i've lost.
Wow, someone who actually is trying to lose weight & change their lifestyle without taking the lazyass way out - Atkins. Good for you Jeff - it sounds like you're doing something close to Body for Life: exercise, lots of water, and smaller portions of all sorts of food.
