On business, and got some time to relax as well. I dont go there often, so Im not too sure if they have things worth checking out as far as food and entertainment not in Houston. The only thing on my radar right now is finding the 7-11/Quickie Mart. Any suggestions???
That's funny...DFWRocket posted this on myspace... 7-11 has converted 11 of its stores across the nation into Kwik-E-Marts to coincide with the release of The Simpsons movie. The Dallas location is on the corner of Hillcrest & Northwest Highway. here is a link to some pictures if your interested. http://occupant272.livejournal.com/21596.html As for must see and do's, depending on where you're staying, not much...No real sports in action around here... If you want to grab a beer, you can find Sherlock's, flying saucer, etc, but they have those in Houston...If you want pretentious, then go to Uptown area...If you want semi-normal (jeans, flip flops), try Addison area...Just ask and I'll try to steer you in the right direction... They do have great steak places in addison off of the tollway...Del Frisco's and III Forks are great...
It's not a real quick-e-mart unless there is a secret staircase in the non-alcoholic beer cooler that leads up to the roof... "You'd be suprised at how many vegetarian dinners on the market have a big hunk of pork in them..."
The Sixth-Floor museum is worth seeing if your in to politics or history. The Dallas WORLD Aquarium is really nice, esp. if you have kids. (note..NOT the Dallas Aquarium) Deep Ellum for entertainment/clubs Other than that, there's not much else worth seeing in Big D.
Try the Angry Dog resturant / bar in Deep Ellum. Great food, good beer selection and best of all fairly priced.
Blue Goose Mexican Resturant! It's off of Betline in Addison. And some Carl Jr.'s....and then go to Lake Lewisville and rent a jet ski.
