Anybody got any suggestions? I don't really know anyone there, and I'm leaving on Wednesday. It was a stopover on my way abroad, so I decided why not make it a few days. I've been twice before, so I just want to know if anything cool has been added the last three years. Also, where can I hoop? That is very important to me. Also, I'm really thinking of catching the New Year's Eve Wizard's game, b/c I don't really want to spend the big money on some special event club or bar or restaurant. Does anyone want to go to the Wizard's game?
If I were you, I'd try to find some way to get into the Cowboys-Redskins game on Sunday in DC. It's Darrell Green's last game and most likely Emmitt's last game as a Cowboy. Plus, the two teams HATE each other. Should be fun. Just a suggestion...
There's some great restaurants right by MCI Center. I ate at a bar and grill right across the street from that newly renovated hotel, I think it's called Hotel Monaco. It was quite good and the beer selection was amazing. But for the game and if you wanted to go get some hoops as well, I don't know what to tell you. I've only been there a few times as well. But I'm told the MCI Center is really nice.
or you can try to get into the Maryland-Ga Tech game on Sunday...I hear the new comcast center is awesome...(FYI, college park is only about 20 minutes outside of DC and the hotels there are much cheaper than they are in the city)
and iof you do happen to venture out to college park, the armory on the campus (if its open during xmas vacation) usually has some pretty good runs
Be sure to check out the suburb of Bethesda, it has the highest concentrations of restuarants in America, I believe, and is just a overall cool place to visit. Bethesda is in Marlyand, northwest of the D.C and about a 10-minute metro ride from the centre of the city. A few BBSers helped me out with some tips for D.C back when I went in August, I'll see if I can dig that thread up. Azim da Dream
