Yes. However, I'm thinking our chances are the following:

We need to beat either Utah or Seattle and then both Memphis and Denver. That would put us at 43-39.

Phoenix then needs to lose 3 games of their last 5. Luckily for us, almost all their games are with decent to very good teams. I could see them losing at least 3 of these (Dallas, Golden State, San Antonio, Portland and Seattle).

So we still have a decent chance of getting in.

We're a game and a half behind. We get in if there's a tie. Don't they have to lose three, while we have to win all 4 of our remaining games?

No. They're 2 games up in the loss column. That's what we need to make up.

With your example of us going 4-0, we'd end up 44-38. If they lost 3 games (again, your example) they'd end up 43-39. As you can see, that would give us an extra game up in the standings, but we need only tie them.

Therefore, we need them to lose 2 more games than we do the rest of the way regardless of how that's accomplished.

im guessing that we may win tonight. steve allways has a great game against the jazz holes and yao never has 2 bad games in a row.

we lost a close one to seattle the first game rudy wasnt there. i think we will want to avenge that loss. then its the grizz and nuggz.

we either go 4-0 or 3-1.

the suns will lose to the spurs and mavs who both want to win the #1 seed.

they will also lose to the blazers who want to remain #5 and not let the lakers pass them. portland doesnt have an easy schedule and they will consider the suns a must win game.

they will go 2-3 and we will make the playoffs.

I hate that the Suns' last game is against Seattle. Right now, Seattle can still cling to an outside hope for the 8th spot. By their last game though, they will be eliminated and won't have much to play for.

our last 2 games are against teams that are mathimatically eliminated form the playoffs and have nothing to play for. maybe even our 3rd to last game (seattle) will doubt themselves this late in the season.

    Tonight's game is huge!

Depending on which Rockets team shows up (the young energetic one, or the erratic mentally r****ded one), the Jazz are very beatable. They are on a 3 game losing streak to less-than-spectacular teams (Knicks, Sonics, & Warriors), so one can presume that their old legs are starting to feel the toll of the season. Nevertheless, they'll no doubt be pumped up to break out of the slump, so the Rockets cannot play complacent disorganized ball. They need to be the hustling energetic team of 2 games ago and not the obviously near-sighted and punch-drunk team of yesterday.

Meanwhile, Phoenix is playing Dallas, who just dropped into second place after a tough loss to the Lakers. You can expect them to be extra motivated tonight to fight to get their top seed back, so the Suns are almost guaranteed to get their butts handed to them.

The playoff race is still alive and kicking, regardless of what all the doomsayers on this BBS may cry out to whomever will listen!

Why I have a feeling that Dallas is going to be get killed tonight by Suns. They play at phoenix right? Sun match up against Dallas pretty well in my opinion. Dallas is also playing without their big gun Michael Finly. Tough game to watch for us.

Actually, I think that Dallas will win easily for three reasons:

    1) they lost (again) to LA last night so you know they're pissed about the same 'ol "You're doing good, but can't beat LA" stuff.

    2) They know they were lucky in beating Phoenix last time and should be out to prove that they're easily the better team.

    3) For the first time all season they are no longer the first seed (they are now tied with San Antonio) and need the wins to keep the #1 seed for the playoffs.

Denver will come alive and play to beat the Rockets. Its common knowledge that they are in a race with the Cavs to draft LeBron James, but when they had a rare sell out home crowd against MJ and the Wizards, and in our case Yao Ming, they came to play.

Without prejudice, Yao played a few "bad" (back to back) games during his first rookie wall hit and also 2 weeks ago against LA and San Antone on back to back nights.

But I have a good feeling we will win tonight.

    Go Rockets!

    Go Astros!!

I have never felt so bad about the games Rockets playing. Thanx to so many "bad nights", now we have to pray & hope other teams to lose to get into the play off. I say.....

Hey...I just thought of something. What if the Suns and Sonics tie the Rockets? Is that possible? Will the Sonics get it?

JaSS clinched playoff spot and are tightly in the 7th seat so I am hoping they will not have as much desire as Houston will tonight!

    Let's look to wishful thinking!
