and who is hitting right next to me?

    Rudy T

Talked to him for a few minutes...helluva nice guy. Thanked him for 94 and 95 and told him how appreciative we all are for helping lead this city to it's only two championships. (He mentioned the comets). He said he thought the Rockets could go all the way this year but that he thought LA and EDIT: NOH (accidentally said OKC) were going to be extremely tough.

I know this was a worthless thread, but I would almost take a bullet for that guy and I finally got to meet him :D

Oh, and he hits the ball about 300 yards

Cool story :). Sounds exactly like Rudy T alright. He wasn't heavily drinking when he mentioned OKC as a contender though? =)

Oh, I forgot to ask. What's he doing these days? Is he still working with LA as a scout or am I a bit behind the 8 ball?

Crap, I meant NOH, not OKC. My bad. I'll edit it

Rudy said he was scouting personnel for the Lakers. Said he goes to games and scouts individual players. He said he was really enjoying it b/c he still got to be around basketball without the stress of coaching

met him once along time ago (pre-titles) at a jazz club on washington. he was chilling at the bar watching the band. my girlfriend chatted him up about his line of ties...remember those commercials? they had fun talking while i could barely muster a word...standing there in awe. he's definitely a genuine guy.

i just googled "rudy t ties"...check this out

This thread would be epic if both of you were hitting golf balls on to the freeway.
