Got it for speeding. I was over 10mph. guy spotted me like 200 ft down got in the middle of the beltway feeder and told me to pull over. Stupid pasadena cops. Anyways, the ticket is 175, if I hire a lawyer to dismiss it it will be 50. I've already hired the Citizen firm to dismiss 1 speeding ticket and an accident where I rear ended this lady. I also hired them to dismiss another one that I have to be in court in January.

My question to ya'll is whether I should hire them again. Do I still have a good possibility of it being dismissed even though I've hired them 3 previous times already?

    Thanks.

Don't feel bad at all man. I've been providing funds to the Texas DPS for the better part of 4 years since I got my first car. All in all I must have received between 7 and 10 tickets the past 4 years all over the state of Texas.
    It Sux.

Have you taken defensive driving already?

Yea I did. Last year, I'm looking for my completion certificate to see if I'm eligible again. I feel like I've gotten tickets all over Houston. 1 in Webster, 2 in Houston and now Pasadena. What's next? Pearland? I hear they're real b words over there.

Well, I hope you didn't admit to speeding. If you didn't, ask for a trial by judge. If he shows up, plead no contest. You'll get three months probation and if some how you can go that long w/o getting a ticket, it will be dropped. And you it'll be cheaper than pleading guilty. About $100 cheaper.

I just signed the ticket that states it's me and my information on it. Idk if that's the same as admitting to it.

No, that's no admitting it. Remember, you always have the right to remain silent and the right not to incriminate yourself. Let the judge decided if you're guilty or plead no contest.

so when the judge asks me how do I plea? Do I lie and say not guilty? So basically my word against the cops. Whose gonna win?

I know he has been recommended around here before, but I'll just mention his name again.

Paul Kubosh is awesome. I got a ticket about a month ago. A week before my court date, I called his office. Paid over the phone and I didn't even have to show up in court.

They also offered me an insurance program for $50 a year ... mrm32, you might be interested in that. Basically if you're a regular offender you just purchase his insurance and he tackles all your tickets for free. I declined because I don't tickets that often (just my 3rd in about 9 years of driving).

Here's a radical suggestion: don't drive over the speed limit!

    Really, what's the hurry?

Just plead no contest if he shows up. If the cop doesn't show you, the case is automatically dismissed. Then you can take defensive driving or take 3 months probation and it'll be dropped off your record.

Couldn't you slow down and get behind him?
Was there no sign warning about the merge?
Did you use your turn signal?

I'm really trying not to judge here, but 4 tickets in 15 months would seem to indicate driving habits that need adjustment.

I'm kind of in the same boat as well. 3 tickets in the last year.

I got a ticket back in October and my court date is November 12th. The last time I took defensive driving was on December 6th 2007. Now the rule is that you can only take defensive driving once a year. So since they give you about 90 days to take defensive driving. Will I still be allowed to take the option of DD even though November 12th is before December 6th? I would be taking DD after December 6th, which is over a year, and probably go back to court to give them my papers as well.

And I also heard about Judicial Judification, I think that's what it's called. Can anyone give me some info on it?

why not just do deferred adjudication? just have to pay more.. but you're getting lawyers and all anyway..this would be cheaper than that
