Jeff, is this an injury that will plague him after he comes back i.e. Grant Hill?

Dont want to lie but yes it could. This is the injury Glen Rice had in NY. But I dont think Francis would be coming back if it wasnt 100%.

This isn't the same injury Rice had. Rice had chronic plantar fasciatis, Steve's tendon snapped off.

What difference does it make? He's not the franchise.

Bill and Calvin said it was the same thing that Glen Rice had (or has).

    He didn't break any tendons.

This is the reason why he played sub-par the last few games before he went on the IR. It started to get worse and the only cure is outright rest.

Two major differences between Francis and Rice:

    1. Rice didn't develop his injury until he was older meaning his rehab was tougher and his body didn't respond as well.

    2. Francis' problem isn't nearly as severe.

    True, good point.

In fact Rice diagnosed Steve's problem, apparently. They caught it early and are taking the rest time seriously.

This should allow Steve to bounce back 100%.

they interviewed him on tnt last night at the game, and he said "1 1/2 or 2 weeks before I can even practice. I doubt he'll be back on the 28th.
