To me its clear, Rafer is the best starting point guard. Sure Bobby has more experience in Adelmens system, but does a lot more damage off the bench. Brooks could clearly start for a few teams, but imo has a season or two before he surpasses Rafer and Bobby in terms of defense, ball handling, and basketball knowledge. He has his good nights and bad nights, but I think lately we have been missing a healthy Rafer. *crickets*
Bobby is nice off the bench...don't like him starting at all. I'd rather start AB and bring in Bobby later if Rafer really gets hurt in the playoffs.
Rafer wouldn't have played better than Bobby yesterday. He would have taken it personally against Williams and he would have wasted time dribbling and taking some terrible shots.
AI - too quick for Rafer Deron - too strong for Bobby + Brooks The bottomline is, Rafer is the team's best PG. He's best at running the offense. Bobby is much more needed off the bench.
There is good reason Rafer sat out last night. His hamstring still bothered him and the game against Denver showed the coaches he should sit out. Knowing the passion Rafer has he probably wanted to play hurt, unlike someone... *ahem* Of course this post is about the healthy Rafer that helps us to win games. The one you saw Bill interviewing after almost every game this season.
Rafer is needed and should be ready for the playoffs. The playoffs will tell where the Rockets will be needing an upgrade for next season. I hope the team does shock the world though during the playoffs.
I just hope he's healthy for the playoffs... there is no question that we are better with Skip starting at the point.
with all the ngetive things being said (not on this thread but other's) you have to give it to the guy yes bobby knows the system but skip still runs this team better than anybody on this team when he is healthy and not playing like he owns every pg in the game during the early stages of the streak well really most untill gamee 22 he was very good then got big headed and really just needs to stop and realize his place.
Take it for what it's worth: Versus Denver: Rafer: 2-10; 1-4 3PT; 1 AST; 2 TO; 2 ST Brooks: 2-8; 1-3 3PT; 3 AST; 1 TO Versus Utah: BJax: 5-14; 2-6 3PT; 6 AST; 2 TO; 2 ST Brooks: 2-5; 2-4 3PT; 3 AST; 1 TO
i saw a few plays last night where bobby and AB drove to the basket and had a few a good assists..something we rarely see with rafer...i think if that was rafer he would of jacked a 3 or shot one of his floaters
Bobby was ok, maybe we would have been better with Rafer but we all know 4/13 whould have been normal. Of course we need Rafer but we need him to pick his game up for playoffs
