Morey has done an awesome job with the team budget. Was Les serious about putting more money up? I'm not expecting a BKN or LAL total salary but lets keep building!

Fingers crossed Dwight takes a little less money.

Still torn on J Smoove but friendship is a key factor with Dwight.

I have said numerous times that Les is cheap...but I think that was just irrational anger. I think he is to a certian extent but he really does care about winning.

It isn't just a "budget" issue; it is a cba salary cap issue. The cap is $58.5M. It isn't like Les can just choose to pay luxury taxes if he wants and build a team that high up. Only certain scenarios allow you to even ATTEMPT to get to the luxury tax (at $71.6M this upcoming season).

Examples: if we have the bird rights to a player, we can re-sign him and go over the cap; we can take back more salary than we send out in a trade/sign-in-trade depending on a host of factors (whether we're already tax paying, how much we're sending out and getting back in, etc.); we can sign players to vet mins all day 'err day and go over the cap, etc.

But Les can't just "choose" to.

He's not cheap. Alexander invested in $ball technology when no one else did, he hired big names to coach like JVG/Mchale/Adelman when other teams were retreads like Mike Brown and most important of all he always shelled out money to buy an extra pick or two in the draft.

He's not Cuban or Russian Cuban, but I think as far as owners go Alexander is pretty good.
