They're way overplaying playing the Nikita commercial to point where I change the channel every time i see it.

I loved the original French movie, Le Femme Nikita. It had depth and soul. But, it seems like they're butchering it into some kind of hip, "rock and roll" spy show again.

They did the same with the first TV series Le Lemme, and the movie, Point of No Return. There's just too much flash and cheese in the U.S. adaptations, like they're made for adolescence. Why can't they get it right? I'd love to see a version in the same spirit as the original.

I am not even aware of a Spy movie or tv show. Where are you getting this from?

If that's true, why didn't the Vampire Spy/detective show survive??

    Moonlight :) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0955346/

Instead I will be forced to watch Alex O'Loughlin on Hawaii fricking Five-O

I love spy shows.. so I have no problem with it.

I don't understand this trend. Or probably rather, I just don't agree with the mentality.

These subjects are (vampires, spies, whatever) are generally successful when they come out and are a refreshing change of pace (Interview with a vampire, for example). Yet once something like this is successful, then suddenly it becomes "cool" and the rest of the world has to run it into the ground trying to capitalize on someone else's success?

I guess there's a big portion of hollywood/tv that has no originality, so they try to capitalize on things that have become popular recently. To me, this is silly because usually the frontrunners were popular because the subject matter wasn't plastered everywhere else in our daily pop life... but I guess screenwriters gotta eat too. And then there's the fact that people tend to eat it up like there's no tomorrow.

    Whatever, I'm old. It's official.

How about a lovable homely zombie bafoon married to a smart hot vampire secret-agent wife? It'd have all the elements; I don't see how it could miss.
