He got a solid amount of minutes and was a pretty decent role player last year until he broke his hand. He has never seemed to have been able to crack the rotation again under JVG or this year in the 7 games we have played.

I wonder what his role would be if he never got off track with the hand injury.

The reason we kept his this year is because he's more tradeable than the last 4 four.

Rockets could still use his size against the Harprings, Carrolls, and Stackhouses... but Adelman has said he doesn't believe playing spot minutes.

Seattle could use him. They're 0-7.

Trade him for Saer Sene and Rockets get Deke's replacement for next year. Sene is like an athletic version of Deke who could maybe slot in some minutes at PF.

Even if he never broke his hand I think Luther would have taken his minutes by the All Star break if not sooner. It wasn't like he was lighting teams up before he went down with the injury.

Snyder would still end up in JVG's doghouse. Snyder's broken wrist gave JVG a good excuse: "Hey, Snyder was chained to the doghouse because of a broken wrist and I lost the key of the the doghouse. Sorry, folks!"

I guess we would've won 3 or 4 championships by now.

It's an interesting question. JVG used him before the hand injury last year and while he didn't play particularly well, who knows he could have had a breakout year. Too late now though, there's simply no room for him.

he would still suck. i think his hand has healed by now and he still can't shoot or pass or play defense without fouling.

No, I think this is a legitimate question. I remember Snyder playing well in the first games of the 2006 season. The reason that he was removed out of the starting lineup was not because of his lack of good play, but rather because Shane Battier was too small to play power forward. Shane was shifted to the 3, which shifts Tracy McGrady to the 2 and Kirk Snyder to the bench. Snyder always took the ball to the rim and drew many fouls. I think he has potential and once he improves his jump-shot he would be a solid rotational player.

Snyder is valuable. He has an expiring contract. He, like many other NBAers, has enough physical talent and like many others, no liklihood of ever becoming a rotation player.

He'd be exactly where he is now: the end of the bench.

He is definately a project but he had a promising game in preseason where he pulled down like 15 rebs or close to that number. I think he'd be able to handle 8-10 mins for the Rockets each game.

if he hadn't broke his hand he still couldn't shoot and still would have a low bball iq. :)

Its really not his hand that took him outta the rotation. You can clearly see his very low BB IQ on the court and his selfishness, trying to create his own shot and heaving bricks in the air.
