Sounds more like when everyone was screaming "Where's Plan B!" and even CD was saying we had to start a plan b. In reality he had a plan b in the works but wasn't going to spill the beans to anyone, especially Feigen. CD already saw another lleak cost him Roy. So no comment was clearly intentional. Oh that sly CD everyone on Clutchfans thinks he's an idiot but he could careless he keeps making the deals.

"He has size, athleticism, youth, a modest contract. Mike James is certainly a more accomplished player, but he did not have any of those things."

I guess James doesn't have athleticism, is an old geezer, and was asking for an albatross contract.

I don't really look at Snyder as a plan B. I think he would have been an excellent aquisition in addition to James. Landing them both would have given us a ton of flexibility in our backcourt. So Snyder was more like a plan independent from the James deal that would work with or without plan A going through.

CD suggesting that Plan B was being formulated offered him no advantage over him saying that we are now in the process of executing our Plan B, and just made the organization look silly. For all we know, Plan B may indeed not have started until a couple days ago. That being said, I think some tentative plans were in the works, and he just either misspoke or was trying to err on the side of caution on how much to reveal.

    The Chronicle is terrible.

    Their writers are terrible.

    Their new website is terrible.

    Their new layout is terrible.

    Their commercials are terrible.

    I hate the Chronicle.

My point is CD obviously isn't showing his cards even if that means we think he is an idiot. We may not like it after it happens but we are going to have to wait and see what it is. That's the deal like it or not the Rockets have a plan but they are not going to blab it out for us to dissect, analyze and destroy it before it even happens.

And yes IMO Snyder is part of the plan Just as VSPAN may be with more to come. We are just going to be patient, or not, and wait for it to unfold.

Agreed. I seem to recall there were already articles about Rox rumored interest in Banks before the Mike James decision. Which suggests there was a bit of Plan B thinking.

Ugh, Plan A should have been executed properly the first time.

Tell us how you really feel brother! :D Yeh, I think that is pretty much the Consensus of most Houstonians. The sports section is pretty much the worst of any large city that I have personally seen. Its pretty much a joke.

James is short, quick but not athletic, old, and a four contract with a trade kicker is not small.

Relatively old, anyway. Pretty old for a 4 year MLE, considering the position he plays. Other than that, your description applies, IMO. It does nothing to denigrate the value James might have had on the Rocks at all. :)

It's still the least expensive way to reach millions of readers from an advertisers perspective. When I run ads for my business, we're flooded with responses.

Good for you! Then tell the rag to improve their bloody sports coverage, especially the almost nonexistent NBA coverage, and you'll sell more widgets! ;)

    agreed

I'd actually be interested to see a poll on which of these two bbs'ers would prefer as plan b. I duno how to set that up or if I even can, so a little help would be appreciated :).

He said, "Plan B started Yesterday." He didn't suggest they started formulating plan B yesterday, that was another posters words. Read the article again CD never said we haven't even begun to formulate another plan, we only started formulating plan b yesterday. He said "Plan B started Yesterday." Which IMO clearly means they have alternatives that are now puting into play. When was he supposed to start plan B while he was in the middle of Plan A. Hey VSPAN we really want you but if we sign James forget about it we got no dough left.

Obviously they have a plan as shown with how quickly they signed Snyder. ANd it's more than Snyder, Who Feigen himself never dreamed we would get, they are going after Vspan and more. If you just want to bash Cd go right ahead you don't need a reason, there are hundreds on this board that will sing in with you. It won't change his plan and he definitely has one.

Amen to that. The Chronicle's writers are JV-material and their coverage of the NBA is beyond poor.

Honestly, the best Rockets coverage and info is right here at CF.net. Which is sad from the perspective of the Chronicle and Rockets.com, the two main sites who have complete access to the team yet stand third in terms of in-depth coverage to a fan site.
