you know, Jessica's sister. She got busted tonight on SNL. Jude Law announced her and the band starts playing and the vocals came on and she is just standing there like WTF. Tne they stopped and kept coming back on so this obviously very talented young lady starts dancing around like an idiot and then just walks off stage and they cut to commercial. The guitarist was laughing and everything. Serves her no talent sister coat tail riding ass right.
At the close of the show, she just said she was sorry and that her band started playing the worng song Um who was sing ing then M'am cuz it sure wasn't you hell you didn't even have the mic to your mouth yet.
That's what happens when you rely on pre-recorded tracks. I've seen some of her show, particularly her rehearsing and her first live gig. I'm pretty sure that was all her that time, so I have no idea why she'd lip synch on SNL.
Haha... I just caught this on delay (because I tivoed it). I immediately came here, cause I knew there would already be a thread on it... hillarious. She did look like a complete fool dancing up there... and why the hell did the band continue to play the song (if they were actually playing at all). Did they just think she was going to perform it again?!? $10 bucks says that SNL makes so much fun of this event for the rest of the year, starting with next weeks show. I still remember when Sinead O'Connor ripped up a picture of the pope on the show, and they were ripping on her for the rest of the year.
Hillarious! Dunno how like, all four other band members "started playing the wrong song," what a coincidence, and then WOW~! someone must've started singing the wrong song too... I sure hope she got her band's okay to blame the technical mistake on them. I'm so glad I was too lazy to change the channel...
Are you kidding me?!?!? I can't believe I missed this!!! Talk about sweet justice. For the love of God, if anyone finds this POST IT!!! I've got to see this!!!
If I were in their shoes, I'd own up to faking it rather then claiming to have played the wrong song. It's sad, the accoustics in that studio are famous. True musicians would love to play there live.
I hope SNL learns their lesson and starts booking musicians again. On a night with Jude Law there, they should have booked an up and coming British group like Keane.
The funny thing is.... artists sometimes pre-record their tracks because they do a lot of dancing and coreography, and a lot of time the singing tends to drop of because of all the dancing. But Ashley did not dance one bit when she sang her first song (the one that was mistakenly played when she went up to sing the second time)... thus making it seem even dumber that she decided to pre-record it. The most moving around she does when she sings the song is this repetitive step forwards... nod your head.... step backwards.... nod your head.... move arms... shake hips... repeat. I guess its because she probably has no dancing ability whatsoever... as evidenced by her awful ad-lib dancing "hoedown" she did when they made the mistake. Also... her blaming the band is awful. Her vocals started to play, and the band (instead of either playing the right song over the other song's vocals, or just standing there looking dumb while the recorded vocals played) decided to try and cover up by just "goin with it" and playin out the beginning of the song. hillarious... yet throughouly embarrasing. I really hope SNL nails her for this (even though they're party responsible).
OK, I didn't see it. Am I to understand that she walked off stage and they cut to a commercial in the middle of the song? When they came back, what happened? Did they just start over like nothing happened? Miguel, is that clip supposed to have the video or just sound because I can only get it to play the sound (which is freakin' hilarious) but I want to see the video.
You need the divx codec... And no, they did not come back and start over... they just continued on with the rest of the show. Frankly, I could care less to hear the song she was "supposed" to sing... and I'm sure after the embarrasment, she probably didn't even want to show her face at the closing credits. Honestly, on second look... it almost looks like her band knew that it was coming (the drummer starts playing it almost from the beginning)... was it a sabotage maybe? hmm....
SNL is supposed to have backups for such incidents. The screen was black during the time she was supposed to be performing. When they came back, they had a "movie" about a city where some accident happened and humans had to flea and the radiation or whatever caused bears to evolve. It was called Bear City. It's just people in silly bear outfits acting out daily stuff, except they can't talk. So in the first one, there's an accident ont the way to work. So the bears get out and growl back and forth before finally exchanging insurance info. It was pretty lame, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't supposed to originally air. While searching for more reactions, I came accross an MTV article that said Simpson was supposed to do a sketch where she spoofed Tara Reid. I guess that got cut as a result if it wasn't cut after the dress rehearsal. I've seen some of her show during a marathon of it, I know she can dance ballet and she was a backup dancer for her sister. That hodown stuff was probably due to the fact she's an immature kid. The Simpson family is fading though. Jessica was never that popular a singer and the only reason people are still interested is because of her show. Ashlee's first album is already more succesful on the charts than any of Jessica's previous attempts. Tonight's events could ruin Ashlee's career and I believe Newly Weds is supposed to be done or going to end. Oops, I forgot, Jessica is trying her hand at acting as Daisy Duke in the DoH movie. Ashlee started off as an actor too (ironic, considering tonight), so they may stick around in another medium.
