Check out Landry's PER, 23.48, league's 16th best though there is a big drop off from the 15th (Donte Greene  )

Exactly my thought. Let's wait a little longer and see if he can sustain his insane shooting %.

except when they play each other.

both average about the same numbers in points, rebounds, assists and turnovers against each other. the difference is williams and the jazz won 11 out of 13 games while williams shot 55 % from the field and paul just 42 %.

overall i agree that paul is better than williams but i had to point that out.

I am starting to wonder why Donte Greene cannot get more than 10 mpg on a crappy Kings team.

I thought DW is better and I think he has more potential but if you were to put Chris Paul in place of DW on that Jazz roster with Sloan as coach I bet Jazz would finish top 3 in the west.

And he's hurt. I heard he couldn't put any weight on his leg.

Lebron had a better stats last postseason and he sustained it for much longer. Paul's shooting percentages will come back down and he won't maintain his scoring average.

Paul has monster stats but their pretty much useless until he joins a better team that can contend.

I think it is even more impressive that he is able to produce at this level of efficiency despite his teammates not being able to share the scoring load. Normally you would expect that he would score more easily if defenses had to respect the threat of shooters around him, but he is shooting 60% with David West being the only other noteworthy offensive option around him. Perhaps the numbers will come down to earth as defenses improve over the course of the season, but what he is doing is still pretty amazing.

One of the criticisms of the PER stat is that it tends to favor bigs over guards ... for a point guard to be putting up 34.05 is pretty astounding to say the least.

This guy called it 8 years ago.

We now have CP3, Ariza, and Anderson.

Wow, I forgot all about that post. I still feel the same way, although I would rather have picked Chris up 8 years ago. Better "late" than never!
