Chumps,

Don't forget we kick off this week, update your roster and lay some smack down on the rumour mill.

Smeg,

I'm ready...

BTW, our game is being simmed in the chat if you want to come in... I'm not doing anything to my team (subs, defenses, etc.) unless you do.

Smeg,

One other thing-- if you can't get in the chat, post or email me. Dream is actually on the floor, playing tonight... how much time do you want him to get? The reason I ask is it says he is injured, and if he picks up a re-injury, he may be done for the year.

Chumps???

First week predictions:

fadeaway vs Cat

Faulk can't do it all, fadeaway's depth too much for Cat's weak team. fadeaway wins this one easily.

PHI vs Smeg

Both teams are very weak at reciever and both go with a 4 RB attack. Defenses will key on Emmett until Carter proves he can pass. Bennett will have a nice season in Viking offense. Warner vs Culpepper is a great matchup. Smeg will come out on top.

Yakima vs Toronto

Lewis injury is a big blow. Yakima wins this one easily.

League City vs Cartesian

Favre, George, Freeman attack is hard to overcome. Behad's strategy of drafting 4 QB's early cost him dearly (unless he trades for recieving and RB help) and makes for a long season. D0D takes this one

BGM vs Rimmy

McNabb and a strong defense make Rimmy a contender. BGM has a lot of question marks. Rimmy gets the victory.

Killer Bees vs Hippy Killers

Ricky Williams and Moss should overcome Bledsoe (known for great starts) Hippy Killers squash Bees in this contest.

Pythons vs CriscoFires

Fred Taylor and Ahman Green pack a nice punch. Trent Green struggles. Griese, Davis & Davis and McCafferey are just too much to overcome. Pythons come out on top.

My weak team? :)

I think I have about the best team out there...

My team:

QB Aaron Brooks, NO @Buf 13.4 25
RB Marshall Faulk, StL @Phi 21.9 1
WR Isaac Bruce, StL @Phi 9.4 6
TE Cam Cleeland, NO @Buf 0.0 88
Off. Flex Priest Holmes, KC Oak 3.9 36
Off. Flex Tim Brown, Oak @KC 8.9 9
Off. Flex Jimmy Smith, Jac Pit 8.7 12
K Jason Elam, Den NYG 8.0 18
Def. Flex Jevon Kearse, Ten Mia 5.6 13
Def. Flex Keith Mitchell, NO @Buf 7.4 19
Def. Flex Charles Woodson, Oak

Fadeaway:

Starting Lineup Position Athlete Opp FP/G Rank
QB Matt Hasselbeck, Sea @Cle 0.6 49
RB Edgerrin James, Ind @NYJ 15.6 2
WR Torry Holt, StL @Phi 9.0 8
TE Chad Lewis, Phi StL 4.2 5
Off. Flex Jerome Bettis, Pit @Jac 8.8 17
Off. Flex Rod Smith, Den NYG 10.2 4
Off. Flex James Thrash, Phi StL 5.4 31
K Olindo Mare, Mia @Ten 7.9 6
Def. Flex Kevin Hardy, Jac Pit 6.6 27

I'm just curious, cause I haven't done Sandbox before, but how do I lose this one big?

Just a reminder. If someone offers you a trade, either click accept or decline. It is very bad etiquette to keep trades out on the table without making a decision.

I think Cat has a good team. However, I still think I'll come out on top in the first game. There's no way Marshall Faulk will put up last year's record-breaking numbers again. I'd honestly rather have James on my team. Plus, my wide receivers are superior (although Boston has a bye this week, so that's a minor setback).

It all comes down to Hasselbeck, really. If he can have a half-decent game against the Browns, a victory is in the bag.

Something tells me franchise has already wussed out and given up. His roster hasn't been accessed since Aug. 17th and Jamal Lewis is still in his starting lineup.

No problem. :) That was directed more at Phi than anyone else. He kept a trade riding on the table for the past 5 days or so. :p

That's normal for Phi, it takes him that long to read your proposal and even longer to get the brain in gear and make a decision:D

Bob, picking extra QB's was my strategy because all the good running backs were gone. Now if I can just get someone to trade with me...

Speaking of which....FRANCHISE CHECK YOUR TRADE DESK!!!

I'm sure someone's qb will go down soon...then I can get a good RB or WR and I'll be set. I already have the best defense in the league.

Also, Tiki Barber had almost 2000 combined yards last year. Why isn't his FP/G higher??

Wait till I get home and check it out. Go ahead and propose it. If I don't like it, I'll counter.
