Wow the Blazers game was such a contrast, will start my Smegcap with the easy part,

    The Highlights
    1. Free drink Koozies (aussies call them Stubby holders)
    2. Roadkill on the way home, Behad really did try to stop
    3. The dude doing the headspins (dman he make the highlights and his spin was nowhere as good as one on sunday)
    4. The Power Dancers, last on the left in back row in particular
    5. Calvin's response to the Trivia answer
    6. The Cake throw by Clutch (sure it was a set-up)
    7. The pre-game entertainment from the school band

    Dislikes
    1. The Crowd, this team is battling for the playoffs and the stadium is less than half full and was damn quite, we were in the front row of the upper level and you could consistently hear the players talking, sneakers squeak, and individual comments from the crowd. If you took out group bookings there was nobody there last night and then they announce the crowd as 10,000, what a joke.

    The Game itself
The game reminded both me and Behad of our junior teams, play some decent defense, rebound really well, the other team is ordinary BUT can't make a basket to save themselves. Scottie Quitten did the pregame shoot around and then to our disappointment then put on some shocking beige shirt and blue suit and proceeded to coach more than Mo Cheeks and step on the court at every opportunity and talk to the refs. Sheed Wallace was ordinary, Patterson was out with the results of Randolph's punch and even Qyntel Woods got minutes, damn I am sure Portland even thought this was a loss before the game.

There really was one difference between Sunday's 114 and Tuesday's 66, shooting, simple they could not make a basket, there were plenty of good shots taken, and we have all seen the stats on Mo, Cat, Steve's and Yao's shooting... it was ordinary. Yao in particular got some great looks, but the just plainly missed, although on a couple be probably could have gone up stronger and quicker.

They fought on the offensive glass to get more shots, but they missed those too. Strangely enough if Mo had made that dunk it would have been a 6 pt game with two minutes to go and you never know.

The defense was ok, Mobley and Posey probably let Wells score a bit too much but Steve was pitiful on defense, the guy NEVER ONCE put a hand up on any of Stoudamire's shots and damn you could watch 10 minutes of tape and know he will come off the pick n roll and shoot the pull back jumper, man leaders need to lead on both ends of the floor!!

After two live games when did it become legal to assualt post player when they are posting up, i really hope Dale and Sablownees at least bought Yao dinner and took him to the movies before they had there way with him last night. Another live thing you notice is when to Mooch graduate from player to mascot, no bloody wonder he plays so terribly, he bring no energy to the court when he plays, unless so way dribbling that much creates energy and seems more focussed on the off the court entertainment.

Also i would like to officially challenge the Rockets to a fast break competition, I am sure my U14 girls could attempt and make a higher percentage of fastbreak baskets, they really do have no idea, what on earth Rudy and Larry practice on fast breaks at training is incomprehensible. They consistently wlak the ball up blindly when they are easy chance to push the ball up and then when the attempt them they often not there or just coack them up.

In short, the Blazers were happy to lose and the Rockets tried hard, but getting the ball through the basket is actually important.

    Smegtastic Player of the Game
JPo by a mile started hot and that pretty much wins him the award, why on earth Larry had Rice on in the 4th instead of Posey has me befuddled.

    Smegerrific Play of the Game
Any made Field Goal in the second half

Damn Smeg...your bad luck. Go back to down under. :D ;)

That was a horrible game. Absolutely horrible.

I hope they fair better this weekend when Smeg and all the Smeggy-ites attend the game. Although, it doesn't really matter since the playoffs are pretty much a "no go" now(i.e. it's over, folks).

What a disappointing end to a promising season. Yea...but there's always next season. We still have some growing up to do. Eggie and whomever else is smoking dope needs to get their act together. Get into rehab. Your an NBA player...you don't need dope. Go buy an amusement park or something with all your dough for crying out loud.

    The H-town crowd sux azz...

This is a common complaint on the board because everyone just sits there, no crowd emotion...

Last game I went when I was in town, my brother-in-law and I were the only ones loud and proud...Amazing...

The sports bar will be much better...I hope...

Believe me, it was not a highlight for the possum.

I tried to avoid it, I slowed and moved over as safely as I could, but it just cut across the road diagonally and went under my front tire.....then my back tire.

It was still there this morning.:(

But you have to give the crowd something to get them "into the game".

Tuesday night's was difficult loss but all will be well again if we beat Utah tonight. Dallas better take care of business against The Suns or else....

You shoot (under 30%) and play like the Rockets did last night, be glad that the crowd was emotionless and quiet.

The Rockets organization is just lucky a riot did not break out, with everyone in attendance demanding a full refund, including food, gas money, toll booth refund and most importantly demand compensation for pain and suffering!!!

Give the fans something to cheer for!

They are spending a lot of money on tickets to see chicks dancing, a stuffed bear running loose throwing an occasional souvenior, and a dude in tights slamming a ball using a trampoline. Then interrupt those great performances, with 10 guys running up and down the court, trying to play a game as though they are blindfolded and drunk - and you want emotion - give me a break!

there was a nice boo for them at the end

i disagree on the entertainment it is great at involving the crowd, almost like they are preparing for next year and the expectation of larger crowds, the crowd was silent and non existent especially at the start, before any of the entertainment.

    I agree Smeg!

That's Houston (and I am one) fans for you, kind of that "what have you done for me lately" syndrome.
