Cat's Pack (4-0) d. League City Exploding Fish (0-4) 60-58 It was a tale of two teams. The 3-0 kitties versus the 0-3 fish. Behad gave it a good shot, keeping it close, but Faulk and Bruce came through for the pussycats in the end, winning by two lousy points. Behad was seen banging his head against a steel locker shortly after, and deservedly so after making the questionable choice to start an ailing Tony Richardson, who ended up not playing. Unfortunately for everyone else, Cat is now 4-0. Unless something happens to Faulk (where's the Mafia when you need them?) Cat's Pack is the team to beat. Fadeaway's Iron Lobsters(2-2) d. Yakima Flight Attendants (2-2) 97-64 After a strong showing against Behad last week, the Lobsters were ready to take it to the next level. Fortunately, although #2 overall pick Edgerrin James was on the bye, so was the leading Flight Attendant, Peyton Manning and kicker, Mike Vanderjagt. There were a few scary moments, like when Plummer oddly went off for 16 points, but the Lobsters were not to be denied, winning by 33 points behind strong overall performance. After a rough start, the sky is the limit for these fearless lobsters! PhiSlammJamm Gamma Rays (2-2) d. CriscoFires (0-4) 77-68 Poor Crisco just can't catch a break. Fragile Fred Taylor is out for a while and Trent Green has not been living up to expectations. This game would have been a blowout if it were not for Brian Urlacher, who amassed a whopping 28 points! It wasn't enough to offset poor overall performance, however, and the Gamma Rays, behind Kurt Warners 27 point charge, took this one easily, pushing a distraught Crisco to 0-4. (side note: CK will likely be an unprecedented 0-5 next week when he takes on the Lobsters!) Rimmy's Smarterthanyouares (3-1) d. SSG's Hippy Killers (1-3)84-80 Rimmy talks a lot of smack, but this time he was able to back it up. This game was a thriller, with SSG up by 4 going into Monday Night with only London Fletcher still to play for Rim. Unfortunately for SSG, though, Fletcher finished with 8 which was more than enough to put Rim over the top. The one-two-three punch of McNabb, Curtis Martin and Tomlinson is looking pretty darn dangerous right about now. Can these three carry an otherwise weak team on their backs all season long? Toronto Flyers (1-3) d. Cartesian Coordinates (2-2) 70-46 Do upsets smell salty? If so, then this game reeks like a damn pickle factory! Franchise's team, sick of all the scorn and accusations directed at their GM, took it upon themselves to show the league that they are for real. Terrell Owens busted out with his first big game of the season, scoring 19, and Eric Moulds chipped in with 13 of his own. Franchise did his best to try to lose by keeping an injured Ricky Watters in his lineup, but his players had other ideas. When all was said and done, the Flyers stood victorious with a 24 point margin of victory. Unfortunately, their coach and GM was nowhere to be found and could not be reached for comment. See frach.. even with the injuries, your team still has potential! Killer Bees (2-2) d. Steamtown Pythons (3-1) 48-43 This was a close match from start to finish, but in the end, VOR's bees ended up with the upset victory in this low-scoring battle of the wussy teams. VOR made a poor managerial decision by leaving Marvin Harrison in his lineup, but luckily some strong play by Mike Anderson was enough to overcompensate for this. Too bad for Bob.. he took the wrong Denver RB! An underachieving Stephen Davis also remains a serious problem for the Pythons. Could there be a trade in the works soon? Smegville Smegstars (3-1) d. The Band Geek Mafia (3-1) 118-76 This one was a blowout from the start. Smeg's flex wide receivers started off strong and didn't look back, with Pinkston and Marty Booker exploding for 18 & 17 points respectively. BGM fought the good fight, trying to ride out the storm on the back of strong play by Lamar Smith, but Smeg was an unstoppable force this week. With Daunte's 19 points and an additional 19 by a linebacker named James Farrior, plus strong overall play from the rest of the team, when the dust settled the Smegstars had amassed a record 118 points. With Duce coming back next week, Smeg's team looks very strong.
Fade, My offense is only a 3-man team, but my defense is usually really good, despite this week's performance. I, therefore, resent your comments about my otherwise weak team. I think I am now #2 in overall scoring (#1 last week) now. We will see next week with McNabb out of the lineup.
Yeah, you're right. Your defense is pretty good. I didn't mean to sound snooty or anything. I like your team. The McNabb, LT & CuMart trio is downright deadly. If Keyshawn Johnson ever elevates his game and becomes a legitimate stud WR, your squad will be a force to be reckoned with.
So Fade you like my team hey Farrior has been sensational Still noteven getting much from Stewart and Alexander The Booker, Barrow and Pathon trade for Bennett seems to be going well.
