    Anybody watch this?

They do some interesting stuff. Tonight they are going to try to build a hurricane proof house.

Yeah, I saw that one last week when it originally aired. That carbon fiber material is cool.

My only problem with the show so far is the leader guy needs to change his faux fauxhawk.

Completely cover a trailer in plywood and then lay carbon fiber strips over it?

Wha? I don't even know what they are testing anymore

And on a not-really-related note. Those guys from "Invention Nation" are f-ing dumb.

Would have been very difficult and probably not worth their time to install the carbon fiber under the siding like it would be if someone were to make a dwelling that was protected in that fashion.

The theory goes that coating the underlying plywood with carbon fiber would not only strengthen the whole structure from ripping apart, but also help minimize the damage caused by flying debris, it would still be covered with whatever siding (brick/wood/vinyl) the house would normally have.

Judging from the episode, it works. If that trailer had been anchored to concrete bases like they are in the real world, that trailer would have easily withstood all the punishment the jets could dish out.

One thing will keep it from appearing widespread, the additional cost wont be easy for folks to spring for.

Anybody catch last night's episode....this show has shown some potential and last night might have been their best episode to date. Just seeing the house using the ball bearing system rolling on the concave track was pretty damn impressive. Simulating an earthquake equivalent to a 10 on the Richter scale and the furniture was still in place!

Still don't quite like the faux hawk guy...something about him rubs me the wrong way.
