Will you vaccinate yourself if/when they make a vaccine available? I'm not sure if I would or not. They say a small % of people will die from it...but I think that is the case with every vaccination. For those of you with kids, would you vaccinate them given the slight risk of the vaccination being fatal? (God for bid). Apparently, Bush has made it mandatory for all servicemen/women.
Nope. People always bother me to get the flu vaccine too, but I never have, and I've never had the flu.
Ya I heard they're gonna vaccinate 1M people to start with, but I'm not so sure how effective that will be against any attack. Plus you gotta think that if we do get around to successfully vaccinating a significant portion of the population, would terrorists then just opt for some other bioweapon instead?
Generally these vaccines are dangerous if you have an already compromised immune system. For instance...if you are fighting off a sinus infection or a cold and then you get the vaccine...you may not be able to fight off the smallpox. That is my understanding. If this is not accurate...somebody please let me know.
reports are that 2-3 people will die out of each million. Study examines the potential risks of smallpox vaccination btw: I've already been vaccinated, so
one third of all people who contract smallpox die. I believe that is far, far worse the anthrax, right? reports are that 2-3 people will die out of each million vaccinated. Study examines the potential risks of smallpox vaccination btw: I've already been vaccinated, so
my understanding is that the side effects of this vaccine aren't real good...like a significant number of people ran a high fever and broke out in a rash...and these were young people too...healthy and in their 20's, as i understand it. i saw a doctor on the Today show this morning talking about it.
Thanks Captain Obvious. You know what else is dangerous, me drinking a bunch of beer with some guys on a tab. When the check comes, I magically disappear!
Woah there chief...that's my line. In fact...many of my law school friends would wait for me to say it everytime somebody said something obvious. Put into memory for use tomorrow.
When did you get vaccinated? I read that about 75% of people that have gotten vaccinated before they stopped vaccinating the public have lost most if not all their immunity and would have to get a booster.
first of all...captain obvious is hilarious! second...i'm starting to not feel so well...not sure if i can go...this damn smallpox vaccine is biting me in the ass!
By day he is Harry Assclown, Attorney at Law...by night, he is the crime fighter with the least, Captain Obvious!!!!
I really don't like vaccines. My dad and I were talking about the flu vaccine a couple of weeks ago, we both generally feel worse when we get the vaccine then when we don't. I've heard to many bad things about the small pox vaccine, I'll probably skip on it. I feel bad for my friends in the military who don't have that choice.
