I wonder where Spud Webb is........

Kobe may be too high, but I'd have to see who is ahead of him.

I would put Dominique at #2. Where is Chocolate Thunder on that list? He's bound to be on there somewhere.

pure dunkers would necessitate Harold Minor and Kenny "Sky" Walker on the top 10 list.

I thumbed through the magazine, but didn't buy it.

They lumped a group of great dunkers together w/ the Phi Slamma Jamma. Francis, Miner, and Spud all made the list but I can't remember here they ranked.

I don't know how you could even judge among the top 4---it should be a tie: MJ, Vince, Nique, and Webb.

Is Richardson on that list? Chandler will earn his way on one day too.

    Interesting list...

    Shaq, Chamberlain, Barkley, Johnson, Wallace?

There should also be an * beside kemp's name noting before 97-98 only.

    Interesting names:
Ronnie Fields--this guy has his own website all about his dunks and is so full of himself, but he never played REAL pro ball
Main Event- And1 dunker who is pretty sick
James White-frosh at florida in case you didnt know who did some crazy **** at the hs all american contest last year
allen iverson-supposedly hes got like a 40+ vert which I believe, but he doesnt dunk too much in games, but I did see him dunk in a missed shot and ride someones neck if you know what I mean

Iverson shouldn't have been all the list. Every guy on that list is much better at dunking than Iverson.

David "Skywalker" Thompson should be higher. MJ has always said that before MJ, there was DT.

This list was heavily bias to this generation of players...next year i think Jason Richardson and Kenyon Martin should make the list.

This thread is a great topic and I'm sure it's come up before, but I guess I missed any previous discussions.

The list looks pretty accurate, except I would move most of today's players (except MJ) to somewhere between 8 and 15. With the exception of Jordan, the old school guys viewed the dunk as a work of art...not as an opportunity to show up their opponent. Dr. J, Darryl Dawkins and Dominique should top the list. They brought glamour and style to a shot that had previously been performed ala David Robinson, two-handed throwdown with no rim action. While Kobe and Vince have awesome dunks, they don't really seem to live for the dunk. The guys from the mid-80's and before thrived on all opportunities to deliver a stylistic and awe-inspiring dunk.

In time...Kobe and/or Vince (or others) may prove to be the all-time greatest dunker, but for now, I personally would have to lean toward the older generation of dunkers. Long live the red, white and blue basketball!!!

Absolutely, positively, Dominique should be first. He had the most powerful and flashy dunks of all time. C.thunder had some power(everyone remembers the infamous breaking of the back board) but Dominique had such incredible elevation and strength when he would snap the ball into the rim. He would have won that slam dunk contest against jordan if it wasn't done in Chicago.

Spree???? The guy does not do anything but average dunks.

Rasheed Wallace should be in the top 30.

The guy is able to throw down ally oops better than anyone I've seen.

Does anyone remember his ally oop against LAC last year? He was like 7-8 ft away from the goal, reaches WAY back to catch the ally oop then proceeds to stretch out and slam it in.
