from a Ron Ron Q&A on slam.. [ LINK ] boo ya to all the nay sayers who claim we couldn't handle a "stephen jackson", "d cousins", or for that matter a "T Will".
some guys are knuckleheads and others are thugs....knuckleheads just need some guidance and patience and thats where ron fits. Jax on the other hand is more of a thug. Twill and Cousins are knuckleheads.
If anyone needs to see the difference between a good coach and a bad one, just look at Landry and Martin pre/post-trade.
Artest is right about himself. Earlier in his career, he was selfish and immature. I remember all that crazy business about wanting to take time off to make a rap album and what not. More recently, he's really matured. He was pretty good in Houston and in LA. He's a good guy now.
I'm not crazy about RA, but he probably did do a lot for the maturity of Ron Ron. In addition, the timing was a huge factor. I love how in all his interviews, he's very honest with what he thinks/feels. Like, when he talked about feeling like a coward in the presence of his old Indiana teammates, how Ron felt he bailed on them.
You're saying RonRon wasn't a "thug"? Seriously? I think RA can coach fiery personalities and bad character. He's probably the best in the league at it. His problems come when players start to feel entitled and get lazy. Hence his inability to fix Tmac and Wafer.
