I did this for the first time this weekend and absolutely loved it. The place was Skydive Spaceland outside of pearland down 288 and I jumped from 14000 feet. After 45 seconds and 8000 feet of free fall, we glided to the ground after a few minutes. I'm taking a friend of mine for her birthday this friday mainly because I want to go again as well. I guess turning 30 means you try lots of new things, so anyone else have any fun suggestions for me??

Well i'm going scuba diving in December (again) and i'm actually looking for a good Race Car driving school. No sharks, motorcycles or rednecks though.
hey FDK, how much did you pay? i trying to get a group together and jump up in Waller, Tx. maybe it might be cheaper in Pearland, and closer.
This place was Skydive Spaceland down 288 in Rosharon. A jump (tandem as its the first time) is normally $169, but you can get a $20 off coupon off the internet. If you want the movie/dvd w/ music and pictures its $100 more. Price is fine, but this place is very professional as they have gold medalists a number of planes and a 125 acre lot. You can also see downtown when you're coming down so thats an additional benefit. www.skydivespaceland.com
do you have to do it tandem if its your first time? me and my brothers want to try this, but i dont think any of us want to do it tandem.
Don't you know what it means to become an orgy guy? It changes everything. I'd have to dress different. I'd have to act different. I'd have to grow a mustache and get all kinds of robes and lotions and I'd need a new bedspread and new curtains I'd have to get thick carpeting and weirdo lighting. I'd have to get new friends. I'd have to get orgy friends... Naw, I'm not ready for it.
You should get yourself a ticket to Queenstown, or Rio, or for some place nearer, maybe Mexico and skydive. The scene on the way down is as much of a thrill as the jump.
I went diving at Skydive Spaceland for the first time myself a couple months ago. It was pretty overwhelming. Plus I farted on the plane and it was so rank that they opened the jump door!
I consider myself something of a sportsman. Been scuba diving. Another great activity where your main goal is to...not die. That's pretty much all I thought about that day, just: "Don't die, don't die don't die don't die...there's a fish, there's a rock, who cares, don't die. I don't wanna die, don't let me die...let's swim and breathe and live. Because living is good and dying...not as good."
priceless imho there are certain things in life you shouldn't purchase, when there's a coupon involved.
i'm always kind of iffy when it comes to this sort of things. basically standing in line and paying your way to have an adrenaline rush experience. i can understand certain activities, like parasailing or snorkeling, where you get to check out the view as well as feel some adrenaline rush, the view being the main reason for the activity and the rush as an exciting side effect. the most surprisingly exciting thing ive ever done was being on this hiking trail in canada on my own, enjoying this beautiful forest by a highcliff sea, and then seeing a signboard warning of bears and a detailed instruction on how to act if you encounter one.
if you encounter a bear, and not sure if it's harmless, always climb up a tree. if the bear climbs after you, it's a black bear. if the bear violently shakes the tree and you fall, it's a grizzly.
