    Q&A with the young pioneer

What do you guys make of his route to make the league, is it better to struggle against superior competition or dominate lesser beings in College? (Assuming thats how it works, I dunno/)

    I think the question is:

does the NBDL have better talent than Italian leagues?

I don't buy the I'm facing better competition in the D-League than in College.

Definitely not the same as what Brandon Jennings did.

The NBDL is horrible basketball. I know lots of players have come up from there and done well, but I don't know how someone can go there expecting to improve their game. It's an audition for NBA teams and nothing else.

I'm guessing he didn't have the grades to go to college?

As for which route is better for getting drafted, I think going to college probably will get you a better draft slot. You're more likely to shine in a college game than playing against experienced professionals. Also, he's got only this one year to make his impression and determine his draft status. If he went to college and impressed in one year, he could enter the draft; but if he does not impress, he can stay in college another year and hope to do better before entering the draft.

Why not? The D-League is absolutely a few notches above college level hoops. There are grown men, some with NBA experience playing there in addition to many former college stars. College hoops is littered with guys that will never sniff the 15th spot on an NBA roster. While the D-League may not be great, it surely has better competition than college.

Brandon Jennings did not exactly have a wonderful time in Italy....Didn't he have a difficult time getting PT since the coach was reluctant to use him? Also wasn't this a major reason why he was not a top 5 pick? I imagine it's not a bad decision to go to the D-League if you can get more PT/audition time for NBA teams vs. International leagues.

I think College level hoops can teach a youngster more about teamwork, fundamentals, and how to run and execute plays than the D-league can teach.

I do. I definitely think the D-league is better than NCAA competition. The cream of the crop in the NCAA are better than most anyone in the NBDL, sure, but the average NBDL player is better than the average NCAA player.
