I have an interview today and a final tomorrow. I really need to study. Do you think they would understand? This is a big company are they more likely or less likely to be sympathetic to my situation?
Just do it like Spud. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/apCtRg6mOVk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/apCtRg6mOVk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
they wouldnt mind...if you had contacted them a few days before. Maybe they will be cool with it, but it certainly does not come across well.
Its frowned upon and depending on the number of applicants, it could possible knock you out of contention. Did you give them any heads up before hand to try and reschedule?
Unfortunately, they will understand. You didn't have the foresight or time management to be able to reschedule the interview a couple of days ago. I don't think you'd get serious consideration.
Man up and do the interview. Cancelling it reflect poorly on you and your school. Also remember, you're in school to get an education and find a job. I'd say the interview is far more important than an exam that will have zero bearing on you a year from now.
IF you really like the job then go to the interview. They might reschedule but its strike one against you even before you step in the office.
think about really, you're going to tell a potential employer, I've known about this final for months, but I need to skip this interview to study for it TOMORROW. not gonna fly
and it sounds like you are in school, so if you cancel, you will be screwing the relationship up with other future applicants from your school.
Just tell them you had a family emergency. A job interview is like 50% lies 50% truth Might as well start out with an lie...
Just do the interview and study around it. You will pretty much take yourself out of consideration if you reschedule the day of the interview. I would go if you want the job.
I don't know what kind of job this is but you should feel lucky they even called you in for an interview. With the plethora of candidates and limited number of opportunities today it really would be wise to suck it up and go if you really need a job.
Do NOT skip an interview. ARE YOU SERIOUS, dude?!?!? In this day and age of recesison and economy WOES, are you seriously thinking about DECREASING your chances to get a job? Even Ducking Fallas Maverick fans would go to an interview instead of "studying." You know you won't study because you will be thinking about how dumb it would have been to not go to that interview. It will be on the back of your head forever. Are YOU telling us the truth?
