Have they done any painting in the offseason on any of the rides? I know about SWAT and the bomboo shoot. But what about other little maintenance adjustments for this season?
Damn, the Texas Tornado was taken down! I only got to ride that bad boy one time because it was always being worked on, but that was a helluva coaster!
I never got to ride Texas Tornado. That new SWAT ride is like a better version of the StarShip ride except alot taller. I think it's about the same height as Dungeon Drop!
oh man...I hope they don't take out the looping starship. That and Greezed Lightnin' are two of the better rides in the park...there's never a line because it holds about 50 people on it... That two seconds that you're hanging upside down on the looping starship before coming back down is awesome...
htown, i saw the website and they basically listed every ride there and didnt see one that wasnt listed to replace the 2 new ones. I never rode the TX Tornado as it was ALWAYS being worked on everytime i went. Plus my friend and I were talking about it one time and wonder how in the hell that ride was even made. Really, that huge ride in the small amount of space it had. Thats some amazing physics they pulled off to even built that ride. BTW, did they replace the Tidal Wave with the new one? I hope not as I thought the Tidal Wave was the best ride there.
I do not believe it, Tornado is GONE???? That was the best ride in the park!!!!!!! Stupid stupid stupid stupid move. Why oh why??
well, according to the website, it said that the Texas Tornado coudn't handle the heat down in SE Texas...I'm not sure how heat would affect a roller coaster, though...
ever been to the chicago sixflags? kickass. we got a new ride last year, deja vu, it is the craziest ride ever. and vertical velocity, where they propell you without warning about 90 mph...it is totally insane.
Sounds badass, I'll have to check it out this summer. I went like 10 times the summer of 1996 when this girl I was dating up there worked there and got us in free.
I haven't been to Astroworld in so long, but man how I miss riding Tidal Wave, Looping Starship, Texas Cyclone, Batman, Ultra Twister, and Dungeon Drop. Viper is also a classic. Jello, When I was a kid, my family took a trip to chicago the year of the huge heat wave around the country. I remember we went to Six Flags and there was this way cool coaster with 8 full 360 degree loops, and we didn't ride it because we decided to brave the heat and go to our hotel. It was awful. By chance, does the ride still exist and do you know its name? Also, my two fav things about Chicago: 1. Going to Wrigley Field to watch them play the Reds(though I'm a stros fan first, still awesome for a sports nut like I am) 2. The Deep Dish pizza. It was sooo good .
The Batman ride always did a number on my fellas down below, if you know what I'm saying. I'll never ride it again. Does the website provided give info ont eh new rides? I can't seem to locate it.
Damn, that was only 7 years ago DVauthrin! I know what ride you're talking about, but can't remember the name.
A friend of mine was riding the TT and I watched the ride. I vowed never to ride it after I saw the tracks swaying. I don't mean swaying when the train passed by I mean just swaying while sitting there with the train in the station. If you sit and watched that ride you would see all the loops continually moving It just bothered me to know that the track was real thin and moved around that much. CK
I'm going to brag a little and post some pictures of my home parks' newest rides (Paramount's Kings Dominon in Richmond, VA)
