What effect does this have on them moving Iggy? Higher or lower? I know Thorn is a pretty good GM and will make the best move for the franchise.

Guess he got the money the Russian wouldn't give to him. He really should have retired, he's nearly 70.

Iggy's price just went up. Rod Thorn is so much better of a GM than that pig ED Stefanski. Our Morey won't be able to swindle Thorn as easy as he would have swindled Philly's previous regime. This is a bad day in the Iggy front...

When Thorn trades away a player he gets back value and the player that was traded away tends to fall off not too long afterwards.

I'd be wary of any player Thorn is willing to deal away.

Actually, sometimes I think it's better for Morey/Rockets if the team they are trying to make a deal with has a smart respected GM rather than a dumbass.

Smart GMs who are on the same wavelength probably find it easier to talk to each other. Also, smart GMs knows what their teams need (whether to fill a position of need, to get picks to rebuild, or whatever) and would make rational choices to pursue that goal. They are not afraid to make a mutually beneficial deal if you offer them the right return.

Morey's got two deals done with Geoff Petrie, for example, in which both teams got what they wanted.
