Would they be interested in Walt Williams? Maybe we can get something from Miami, Walt goes to Philly, and cheap-ass Miami gets the exception?

What, in particular, do the sixers want?

I did some exploring and here's what I found:

They're looking for a backup SF, to a less extent they're also looking for a backup PF and/or C.

Not much 3-pt shooting players on their squad.

Walt looks like a nice fit. The only problem is that Rodney Rogers is a better fit for the role. But with Gugliotta'snot-so-stellar play, I think the Suns might hold on to Rogers.

If that's out of the way, and Walt has a really good game against whoever we're playing, I think it's a possibility.

One more question, would you guys do this?:

Walt and KT for Corie Blount and the exception, which we then ship to the Suns for Rodney Rogers? or anyone else you have in mind?

 I don't know if anyone is willing to trade KT after last night...especially for an unathletic, overweight shooter. Rogers was 6th man a couple of years ago, but after that he's put on 20-30 pounds and doesn't rebound anymore.

Actually, he's been playing well lately. The 6th man of the year was the year before last. We have to think longterm. Next year, we HAVE to trade KT. You CAN'T have 3 PFs that expect minutes. This year, Rogers can play the 4, split with Willis and Griffin. Next year, he can back up the 3 and the 4 when Willis is gone or plays ver y few minutes on a cheap contract backing up Cato.

in the longterm, this trade would benefit us, cause for this year, we'd have more minutes for Griffin, no problems with KT next year, and Blount helping out at C and PF.

I know everyones high on him after last night's game, but barring that game, which won't be repeated, i think it's worth what we'd be gettting.

Insane in the membrane, that's insane got no brain.

So 103 SFs next year, and a crappy Rogers this year?

Is that you Rudy? Did Kenny question the logic behind big men shooting sissy jumpers and destroying your small guys by running them through the paint all of the time???

ps, if we're going to sell one of our PFs out... we should do it to Mo. He's injured. May as well add insult to injury.

i just found more reason to do the second trade.

Rodney Rogers makes barely 3 million and is on his LAST year, like Walt.

Next year, T-Mo, Mo-T, Griffin and Rice all get their minutes, and the Rockets are with a capable backup C in Blount.

This year, Rogers would give us a great season because he's looking for a new contract next year, and I'm sure he's a perfect fit for those days when Rice just isn't hitting.

I think it's safe to say that even if we wanted to trade Mo, we wouldn't be able to.

    Rogers can play PF.

This is what our line-up would look like:

    Cato/Willis/Blount
    Rogers/Willis/Griffin
    Rice/Rogers/T-MO
    Mobley/Torres
    Francis/Mooch

I think this is considerably better. We lose a SF, we get a better one, and we also get a C, AND we still have Rogers' contract expiring next year, as well as Blount's (I think).

Again, We wouldn't be very small, because, Willis and Griffin aren't small PFs. We have Blount to come off the bench if Cato or Willis are injured or aren't playing well. We also avoid ugly contract negotiations with KT next year. Our line-up would become:

    Cato/Collier/Griffin
    Mo-T/Griffin/Draft pick
    Rice/T-Mo/Griffin/Torres
    Mobley/Torres
    Francis/Moochie

I'm pretty sure we're also gonna be seeing a lot of this:

    Cato
    Griffin
    Mo-T
    Mobley
    Francis

After a year of getting back into shape, I'm pretty sure Mo-T will start playing SF alongside Griffin.

Unless Rogers attitude has changed, he was not interested in the Rockets when we courted him before. He is a gifted player who gave us a bad time matchup wise. How tall is he?? Does 6' 9" seem right?? With Rogers heighth, think what Kenny could do. I hate to give up Kenny-a hard worker.

He has no choice really. With Bo Outlaw doing what he used to do, his days are numbered, and I think he'd be glad to join a team where he can get minutes and earn another contract. Simply, he HAS to play hard, if he wants to make big money next season.

Why would the Suns not trade Rogers to Miami, but they would trade him to Houston?

If we trade KT this year w/o attaining a serviceable 4, I think we would be throwing in the towel for this year.
