The Clippers, expected to take a high school star with the No. 2 selection in Wednesday's draft, received an undisclosed amount of cash from the 76ers in the deal for the second-round pick. The Clippers have worked out prep stars Kwame Brown of Glynn Academy in Georgia, Eddy Curry of Chicago and Tyson Chandler of Dominguez High in Compton, Calif. Last year, the Clippers took Darius Miles of East St. Louis (Ill.) High with the No. 3 pick. Miles averaged 9.4 points and 5.9 rebounds and was named to the NBA All-Rookie team. ------------------ president of the sleepy floyd to hall of fame club. http://www.it-is-truth.org http://members.fortunecity.com/omar369
I did not think that the league would allow teams to exchange draft picks for cash? Wasn't there a story about Cuban offering someone 3mil in exchange for one of their 1st rounders only to have the Devil Stern intervine? Oh wait when the deal was reported for cash the league thought it said crash and just assumed that the 76ers got a steal. ------------------ [This message has been edited by crash5179 (edited June 27, 2001).]
