Very touching story. I was nearly moved to tears and thought I would share it with you guys. If you have kids that pouts at you with some BS, you should show him this story. This is too sad and yet wrong in every way. He should at least be getting some adequate medications. People should really also learn more about this disease. It's only transmitted through blood contact, other than that, it's a really wimpy disease once it leaves the host. I can't imagine what the boy is going through and having been rejected his whole life. He didn't choose to have HIV/AIDS.

I read this story a few weeks back. It was quite sad. The dog is his only friend.

This is too sad and I'm sure there are many more like him in similar conditions.

Difficult to find a solution for A-Long. I pray he finds some sort of normalcy in his life.

I think genuises in bull**** areas such as astrophysics need to put their minds into medicine, particularly AIDS and cancer. Those guys are just wasting their time making dumb predictions about the universe and they know damn well they'll never see another civilized planet in their lifetime or any of the exotic things like black holes, wormholes, etc. that they talk about all the time.

Very good read yet very sad... Amazng boy he really is.

I don't understand the grandmother. She is afraid of living with him? Because she might catch the disease and die? She's 86 years old! And she is his grandmother!

I feel really bad for the kid.. Glad he has "Old Blackie" :(

Really sad story. Good to see the kid was adopted, hopefully it all works out somehow.

    Starring Will Smith's son!

    Soundtrack by Will Smith's daughter!

Reading a story like that really puts things into perspective. I have no problems, either singularly or in the aggregate, that can even match a toenails amount of suffering that boy has/is/and will go through. Very sobering.
