Man, what a scary ordeal for the house guest.....6 people????? http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news/ap/20011101/ap-pacers-benderburglary.html Three arrested, three others sought in Bender break-in November 1, 2001 CARMEL, Ind. (AP) -- Police have arrested three people suspected of breaking into the home of Indiana Pacers forward Jonathan Bender and threatening a house guest at gunpoint. Three other people are being sought for the break-in early Wednesday, said Sgt. Eddie Moore of the Hamilton County sheriff's department. Bender was with the Pacers for games Tuesday night at New Jersey and Wednesday night at Chicago. ``It happens. It's part of life,'' Bender said after practice Thursday. ``Everybody wants some of what you got. People are jealous out there.'' A friend staying at Bender's home in a Hamilton County subdivision told police officers that five or six men and a woman woke him up at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, then hit him over the head, held him at gunpoint, bound him and searched the house. The house guest, who identity was not revealed, freed himself and ran outside after the intruders left. Police identified the suspects as Herbert Jones, Marquette Jones and Edward Purnell, all of Indianapolis. All of them were held on charges of burglary and robbery, felonies that carry a penalty of 20 years in jail. Moore said police officers found a stolen van they believe was used as a getaway vehicle.
