I just wanted to say guys, don't be disappointed with this season or expectations. If there was a time to be disappointed, it's not this season. It wasn't last season either. I think the last year t-mac and yao were healthy was a tough one. But that's certainly not close to anything. There were worse. Those were in the Hakeem era years. So many. But particularly the two after we won rings. The lose to Seattle and then the loss to Utah in the WCF. Had to be two of the most painful season as a Rockets fan. So my advice as someone who has been a fan of a medium market team that hasn't seen a 2nd round in a decade, don't get frustrated. No one expects these guys to make noise. They aren't suppose to. There's no t-mac, artest isn't consistent or smart enough, and that's it. We might be Portland, and we might not. We got a good chance, but they are a great team too. And it will not be easy. No matter who the playoff match-up will be, getting deep into the playoffs was never something folks would expect. I am not one to be satisfied with a loss in the 2nd round vs. the first round. It's all or nothing. I'm just trying to say that lately, people have been harping and upset and disappointed. Frankly, this is the funnest time of year no matter what happens. This is the time I enjoy watching players ball their heart out. It's just a nice time to be a fan. Just appreciate the effort, and know the adversity they have overcome. Everything on top of that is gravy.
why are you doing this to me? oh yeah, and we didn't draft drexler oh yeah, and boston kicks our asses literally... anything else you want to mention? cartwright cracking hakeem's eye socket? trading for joe barely cares? signing cato to a monster contract. matt maloney. roddrick rhodes. eddie griffin. come on, dig deep, i'm sure you could twist the knife a LITTLE more...
It's hard to enjoy anything now after what happened last night and how stupid Rick Adelman's decision is...knowing he will probably do the same thing again against Portland as he had done it before in the past whether Playoffs or regular season. He did not help the team by insisting on letting players play through their struggled. His idea of hoping that player will get through is what killed you in a game that based on momentum. And before he does anything, he waited too long because of his arrogant of insisting letting players play through it. So if Adridge go off on Scola, don't be surprised if this same dumb coach continue letting him play on.
I mean, who really cares that we are the fifth seed? So what? It's not like we are the 8th seed. Portland is a great draw for us. Yao does well against them. The pressure is on this young and inexperienced team to win two games at home. They won't do it. So just chill. Why is this forum always so unhappy? What's wrong with you people?
I just want to say that Home court advantage is useless for us if we lose our home games and it's useless for portland if they lose home games so whats done is done so just cheer for the rox
as long as t-mac isnt playing I will enjoy the rockets. T-mac is an overrated epic failure in basketball, period.
except when they front Yao and your outside shooters are laying bricks and a healthy mac drives the lane draws the defenders, makes a quick pass to scola for a game winning layup. Good times.
I'm definetly on the "sit back and enjoy no matter what happens" boat. This team has been an absolute pleasure to be a fan of this year. I mean it wasn't that long ago that we were watching Juwan Howard and Tyron Lue! This team is full of some of the most likable, hard working guys around, and I seriously can't think of a single other team that could do what the Rockets have done with their 20 million dollar star sitting out all year. And those of you that think that if we don't win the championship it's all for naught are insane. Winning a playoff series the year that Tmac hung it up will be priceless.
10 consecutive games later we get 3/17 fgs from a 16 million dollar player or if we are lucky enough he will be injured. awesome.
yup this is going to be one hell of a series. i'm strapping in and getting ready for the ride I love watching this team, just hope we can play smarter
expectations coming into this season had many of us feeling we weren't just crossing our fingers hoping for nothing more than one playoff series victory.
I know it's pre-mature and really kinda self-promoting to quote oneself....but I'd just like to say HAHA! Who doesn't love it when they call it right? execpt Portland might not win a single game at home at this rate. However, I don't expect a redux on Tuesday.
