According Ian Eagle on FCP the Mavericks job is JVG's if he wants it. Even though they will interviewing other candidates if JVG wants it it will be his.

That doesn't surprise me at all. Though it will surprise me if he takes it.

Yeah... don't think he'd mesh well with Cuban and his antics.

WOW...JVG OVER THERE COULD BE SCARY FOR US....ESPECIALLY IF THEY DONT LOSE ANY OF THEIR OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER

Wow...JVG over there could be scary for us....especially if they don't lose any of their offensive firepower, which they shouldn't b/c they still have dirk and kidd.

If Cuban learns to keep his mouth shut and his hands off the franchise, he might get some redeeming value from his Kidd trade.

If JVG is gonna take a job this year, he's gonna take this one because it is close to home. However, I doubt it. But Cuban could throw him some major jack.

I don't think it's close enough. You're still talking about spending the night away from home every night of the year...if he is truly making Houston home. And he seems to be, judging by his comments.

If he takes this job, the family is moving to Dallas.

I hope not. I like JVG, and seeing him in the Dallas sidelines would hurt.

i'd rather jvg stuck to his job on espn where he can stick up for the rockets. the rockets should throw some dough his way as support staff or something. id hate to have to root against him.

I don't think he and Cuban would get along. Someone (Cuban) would be killed in the process.

Did I miss something... offensive firepower from Kidd? ;)

Unless Cuban has learned from Jerry Jones (which I doubt) and let the basketball people do their job, JVG will not take the job.

Verbally he would destroy Cuban... and make him (Cuban) look like the ass clown he is. JVG Please remain a commentator.

One would have to think JVG would be tired of coaching mentally weak superstars. And Dirk certainly fills that bill. If Avery's persona isn't strong enough to give that team a dominant winning character, JVG's won't either. He'd almost be a better fit for the Suns, really.

I think the Dallas job is the best opportunity for JVG out there, if he think he can handle the relationship with Cuban. Team wise, the Dallas team fits in JVG's mold the most. Also from the unusual praise JVG gave to the Mav's on 1560 yesterday, I think he also wants the job.

If JVG's hired by Cuban and I am sure he will be looking for tough minded defensive players, which the Mavs dont have now. Also from the Mav's board, looks like they are really down on Josh Howard. So if this off season, Mavs offer us Howard+filler for Battier+Head, would you do it? I will.
