Do you guys ever think Charles would ever be able to coach a team or be an assistant?

    What about a GM?

I think he'd be a really good general manager, he seems like the kind of guy that would be able to get good deals in trades by knowing what fits the needs of his team.

I don't know about coach, though....tell me what you think.

He doesn't have the patience and discipline to coach. Magic, Bird were great players, but marginal coaches. Something about stars and coaching does not mix.

    GM?
Using your criteria, there are at least 20 members of this BBS that could fill the job.

He would make a pretty nice GM. But as for coaching, I think he would make Bobby Knight look like a saint. I wonder if he does become a GM or something of that nature and wins a ring. Would he feel a little better?

I think Barkley would make a great coach, although he might lose his cool like Bobby Knight from time to time. I believe that the players would listen to him because of his experience just like they do Rudy. He's a good teacher of young people & I believe that he would mellow out in time as he sees the young players growing. I'd love to find him a place on the Rockets coaching staff. There's nothing wrong with a coach, with a little attitude, as long as it's in moderation. Barkley would have no problem getting in a players face when he screwed up & then taking him out for a beer afterwards to smooth things over.

Oh yeah, let's see Sprewell try choking the Chuckster. [IMG]

Barkley has often said he'd rather OWN a team.

Yeah, I could see Chuckster owning a team, but not coaching or GM.

Magic Johnson couldn't coach, but I'd have to say that Larry Bird was far from "marginal", unless you count three playoff appearances (after inheriting a team that missed the playoffs the previous season) and the first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history as a dissapointment

Besides, didn't Barkley say he was going into politics??

Personally, I'd vote for the Chuck Wagon over Bush or Gore any day of the week

[/B][/QUOTE]We can always hire Chuck and Dream as a coach to give Cato some lessons, but that is unlikely to happen since Les is no Mark Cuban.
