im going to throw out this "what if".... what if we had signed antonio mcdyess instead of scottie pippen, (i know he he wanted to play in denver, but play along) what if the rockets had said they would only trade hakeem if they got tracy mcgradyand the 9th pick and the raptors agreed. what if we got shawn marion in the draft. and we still had francis and mobley... our starting lineup would be: pf:shawn marion sf:tracy mcgrady c :antonio mcdyess sg:cuttino mobley pg:steve francis ------------------ http://www.democrats.com
what if my aunt had balls? ------------------ "i still fondly remember how the Chuckster threw a basketball at Shaq´s forehead, and then, after avoiding a blow by the behemot, proceeded to wrestle him to the ground like a sac of potatoes, while throwing a fair share of jabs at that big oaf´s ear." - Thanos ah the memories... Barkley was the man.
LOL verse! And Toronto never even offered TMac and a pick so that is too far beyond reality for me. Plus, we'd have too many guys wanting the ball in that lineup and at least 1 or 2 of those guys would probably be traded. ------------------ "Steve is good. Steve is real good." -- Cleveland's rookie point guard Andre Miller on Rocket rookie point Steve Francis
What if I, at only 5'10", am signed by the Rockets for the rest of the year. I average 25 points/game on 50% shooting, 14 rebs/game, 4 blocks/game, and 6 assist/game. The Rockets go to the Western Conference Finals against the Lakers, and I hold Shaq to under 10 points every time I face him (that's right, I will be playing Center). The Rockets advance to the Finals, and I retire on top of my game to watch the Rockets dismantle the Sixers in a hard fought NBA championship. Please, nobody shoot down this possiblity, I still sort of believe it will happen. ------------------ "Of course, everything looks bad if you remember it!" Homer Simpson
McDyess isn't a center. And we wouldn't have still gotten steve francis most likely. ------------------ The whole world we travel with our thoughts, Finding nowhere anyone as precious as one's own self. What if the Rockets traded Ralph Sampson for Jordan? ------------------ Respect Hakeem's legacy. A championship in the hand is worth two in the bush!!
Is it really that far fetched? Do we really expect Dream to stay healthy the rest of the season? It could start with one 10 day contract. ------------------ [This message has been edited by silent j (edited February 04, 2001).] [This message has been edited by silent j (edited February 04, 2001).]
McDyess' decision REALLY hurt. He would be fantastic on this team with his post play, rebounding, and shot-blocking. Maybe this is why the Rockets appear hesitant to make any deals, being that they're looking at having some nice caproom this offseason. This situation has been a real punch to this stomach for the Rockets, with Scottie doing his act, basically trading him to the Blazers for underachieving Cato, Cato coning the Rockets into his contract and having his deal on the books for the next 5-6 yrs. Just think if the Rockets, seeing that they're main target, McDyess, decided to sign elsewhere just held onto the capspace instead of signing ol' Migraine. The Rockets could've been big players this past off-season, and may have been able to sign Duncan, Hill, or McGrady. ------------------ Who's better: Kelvin Cato or Joe Barry Caroll? Take your time!
