Since the bad 11-14 start, Rockets are 26-11 and one of the top teams during that span

    The only teams with a better winning percentage since then are:

    Milwaukee: 32-6
    Denver: 25-10
    Golden State: 25-10

    That’s it. And the Rockets have a virtually identical record to Denver and Golden State at 26-11.

    Rockets have the #1 offensive rating in the league during that time and the 4th best net rating.

    Two obvious area where the team can improve is defense and rebounding. But I was encouraged by the Golden State game and the 2nd half vs. Miami that this team CAN defend when they pick up the intensity and give effort. And in the playoffs, they will bring it.

    This team is better than their overall record. As they get healthy and continue to have normalcy and continuity in their lineup, they should round into form and peak just in time for the playoff push they’ve been hungry for since the end of game 7 of the conference finals last season.

    Yeah but what about the defensive rating? That's the **** that matters. We have squeaked out a lot of wins due to Hardens pure brilliance

    22nd. So not good. But like I said, they have lacked the defensive intensity this season that they had last year. I remember them making it a point to be really good on defense last year right from the start, and it showed in their effort on that end the entire season.

    They haven’t brought the same level of intensity and effort on defense this year for most games. But in some games that they really wanted, they picked up the intensity and effort and played really good defense. I’m convinced that a lot of their defensive issues are mostly due to effort.

    When the playoffs come, if they are hungry for a title, they will pick up the effort and intensity on the defensive end greatly and be a much better defensive team in the playoffs.

    Statistically negligible. 112.0 (22nd) since 11-14 start vs 112.1 (25th) for whole season. But losing House then Capela during that span, contributed.

    For instance, when you look at House's games in that time span, we were 110.2 (15th) and 14-4.

    House's rebounding (boxing out) at the SF position was critical during that stretch.

    the defensive regression is the main problem I have with this team

    I watch games 1, 2, 4, and 5 of last year’s WCF often, and the level of defensive intensity that the Rockets were putting forth was simply amazing. That is what it’s gonna take to beat GS.

    Can this team replicate that or anything close for a full 7 game series? I mean, it’s hard for me to imagine a team going from a bottom 10 defense all year to consistently elite for 7 games against a team like GS. Defense was the most important thing in that series. It was even more important than CP3, because even when we had CP3, in the games where we were subpar defensively, we got blown off the floor.

    At least we’ll have an easier time scoring now that we’ve got 2 liabilities to attack in Steph and now Boogie.

    I’m confident that if they didn’t have all the injuries even with the bad start they would have the same record as Denver and GS.

    Not even mentioning all the bad losses like the Cleveland loss or the loss to Brooklyn bring up 9 with under a minute.

    We’ve had a few games that we gave away this year.

    If u flop this games in our favor okc included we’d be more like 42-20 and that’s including the injuries this year.

    All you have to do is check Vegas and they still have houston with the 2nd best odds of being in the finals from out west even though we’re sitting in 5th.

    I’m sure if we were in the east we’d have the 2nd best odds to win the finals after GS.
