according to the sina article 10 players from this year's roster will be there next year. (bogans and wesley is not on the list) take it with a grain of salt as usual.
Ok...several thoughts. 1) You said 10 players were listed, and there just happen to be 10 players on the depth chart behind Dawson in picture #2. Personally I'm surprised to see Sura as the backup PG. 2) There appears to be a spot directly above Head on the depth chart that looks like it got smudged off. This leads me to believe that priority #1 is a starting shooting guard, and that they may even have someone in mind already (but erased the name before pictures were taken?). 3) That's a pretty random picture of James Augustine. I hope we can get a translation of this article soon so we can speculate a little more.
bogans and wesley wouldn't be on the current roster since their unrestricted free agents. the 10 would be the guys who currently hold guaranteed contracts.
some more info i got out of the sina article: 1. the reporter bumped into 4 players came in for the workout and they are: james from Illinois (most impressive), matt haryasz from stanford and yemi nicholson from denver are also good. 2. when asked about the 10 players on the chart dawson confirmed anybody who is not there will be gone by next season 3. rox is going to use the no.8 to draft a player, no mention of trade away of the pick.
it would be pretty stupid if the rockets don't sign wesley and bogans back for reasonable money. because we won't get much better players. wesley can still be a veteran off the bench. keep him for <2 mio if possible. bogans is by no means a starter, but he can be a solid role player as the 10th or 11th man off the bench. if he wants to stay for cheap, then resign him.
Is Hayes under contract for next year? At first I dismissed the 10 players comments as just players that are currently under contract. But I thought Hayes only signed a deal for 1 season.
I thought the same thing at first, but I doubt it. The picture links directely to sina and the artifacts seen around the names in the photo are also present around the basketball on top of the filing cabnet. I just think it's a low quality pic.

I do not believe wesley will be gone....bogans maybe, but wesley...he will be staying for a bit of money, plus he is a veteran, you can count on his threes in the playoffs for sure...
I guess this is wrong then. It says $0 for Hayes next year. It's blank for Lampe, but that's a problem with the site. Sometimes the actual salary doesn't show up, but as long as it's blank and not $0, they are under contract. I just checked a list of free agents and neither of them shows up, so they must be signed for next season, yet Lampe isn't on that depth chart behind CD. Maybe they'll waive him and eat 800k?
It's very obvious the names on the whiteboard behind CD have been cropped and pasted on to it. I don't care if it came from Sina's website. Just take a look at it. If Sina had this image on it's website I consider it another blow to their credibility. I doubt CD would confirm something like this to the media in early June. He never answered about the names missing from the whiteboard because there were no names on it before the photo was doctored. Right. Why would he write the depth chart on the WALL of his office? Wouldn't there be more feasible places to jot it down in the building, like a chalkboard or hell even a note pad? (Not to mention who would write right on top of a big 'ol crease) Dawson, and the Rockets as a whole, are probably THE MOST secretive organization in the league. Why would he just have something up like that for a media member to see and take a picture of? Ridiculous.
I have a supercomputer and I just confirmed that those names on the whiteboard were photoshoped. LOL. No need to discuss it further. If you look around where it says alston and sura you can clearly see that there is some color distortion that is there which is in a perfect box around the two names. Where is the BS flag when you need it.
I was shocked to learn this at first, then I checked the original Chinese version of it and I realised it is true.....sorry men Acutally there are three articles came from one single interview(typical sina sytle),one mainly focus on Yao(nothing new),one focus on Dawson's hello to Chinese rox fans(quite boring) and the one with "10 players left". It also mentioned that Dawson said Fransice and MJ both wants to come back,he thought Fransice's issue is difficult to handle because of his big contrast,while MJ is quite possible. Dawson did say he would use the 8# pick properly.
If this is true, anything from sina.com should never again be posted at clutchfans. That's just pathetic.
